Germany is decimated by injury and flu: Lahm, Podolsky,and Klose are out. Mueller is back from suspension.

 

 

Uruguay have the chance now to steal third place, but I still rekon Germany will get it.

Neuer is also on the bench - the reserve goalie also has flu so Hans-Jorg Butt in goal for the Germans tonight.

 

Depends how up for it the Germans are, anything less than 100% and I could see Uruguay snatching this.

Enjoyable game so far but I am getting tired of the ceaseless snide remarks about Saurez by the commentator - in the same circumstances I wonder what reaction there would have been to (say) Rooney palming the ball of the line, then celebrating when Gyan missed the penalty?

Muted celebrations here in Germany - I think they really thought they were in for a shot at the big one. That said, a fairly young team that did very well all told.

Enjoyable game- shame that Klose wasn't able to be involved to try and equal Ronaldo's record in what will surely be his last World Cup. I might stick a tenner on Germany to win Euro 2012.
