Above is Notts County's Home Kit. If the Referee has a problem with our Kits clashing then when we play them at thier place, the only thing I can think off is that one of the teams will have to play in County's away kit which is blue.

Why? Wearing black or white or any other colour makes no difference to body temperature. It is a myth that has no supporting scientific credible evidence.

Do you think Bedouin tribes would have lived for thousands of years in hot deserts wearing black and herding black goats if black made you hot?

And add to that the fact that Stephen Fry on QI said it was a myth too :-)

And how does the sash kit clash with that? You would have to be blind, let alone colour blind to get them mixed up.

We have two distinctly different kits - a black kit and a white kit - we have therefore fulfilled our League obligation of having two distinct kits - I would therefore venture that the onus is on Notts County to wear a kit that doesn't clash with one of ours

Surely we will just play in yellow bibs?

Basic GCSE says otherwise

http://www.s-cool.co.uk/gcse/physics/energy-transfers/how-does-heat-energy-move.html

As for the bedoins, more layers have an effect so the additional heat doesnt reach the skin, footballers dont wear layers in the summer so they asborb more heat. Incidentally Saints may have to change in virtually all their hot games as the other teams wear a lot of white.

Black absorbs heat, white reflects it is what I was taught as an 8 year old...

Which is down to layers not allowing the heat to penetrate as I pointed out, fooballers dont wear layers in heat so they will be affected as anyone knows whos worn black in the hot sun.

Face it, youre wrong, anyone who passed basic GCSE science knows that.

the first 2 pages of googling "colours absorb heat" tend to disagree with that and the argument that you put forward is based on the dynamics of cow's hair, pigeons feathers, and a desert tribes robes. The general view is that darker colours absorb more light, which is converted into heat.

However I think the difference will be minimal when you consider that it is a very thin shirt that is, probably designed to 'flick' sweat away from the body, worn for a max of 45 minutes before the players get to cool down and that the season is played in England during Autumn, Winter & Spring not under the Sahara Sun.

Perhaps the light/colour absorption debate is one that should be made against the Home shirt, and the new away shirt may help our players on the cold Tuesday November night wherever.

I've often wondered about the possibility of shirt sales without a sponsors name on it.

Apart from kids who'd say it is not a real replica without the name on it,most adults would probably find the shirt more appealing.Doubt the club could do it as many of the sponsors probably consider the "walking billboards" as an important part of the contract.

I would like it if we had the option to pay a "I don't want to be a walking billboard" tax & pay a premium for a sponsorless shirt.

the least I ask for is a decent sponsor/brand on the shirt.... MALI would be quite nice for next season.

What colour clothes should you wear in hot weather?

Forfeit: Light coloured clothes

Answer: It doesn’t matter, just wear something light and loose if you want to stay cool.

It is strange that Bedouins, who live in hot deserts, wear black robes, but a study done by Tel Aviv University and Harvard has shown that the amount of heat gained by a person in the desert is the same whether he wears a black or a white robe. The additional heat absorbed by the black robe was lost before it reached the skin.

A man stood in the desert for 30 minutes, facing the sun four times, once in a black robe, once in a white one, once in an Army uniform and once half-naked. The results were surprising, they found that the man was equally cool irrespective of the colour of his robe. It worked like a chimney, because the air is hotter underneath the black robe, it rises more quickly up and out of the loose robe and, by convection, is replaced by the cooler air beneath it.

LoL at people quoting GCSE education as if everything you were taught as school is gospel. Next you'll be telling me that glass is a liquid and Monday is the first day of the week....

And in comparison, you are taking what one person has posted on an internet forum as gospel. Just because it says QI on it, doesn't make it true ;)

Next you'll be telling us cricketers wear white for fashion reasons.

That basically says that black absorbs more heat, which is what we all know anyway. That Chimney effect is interesting though I wondered why the Bedouins wore black.

That's not strictly true. There is plenty of credible evidence (by scientific peer review standards rather than internet message boards standards) that suggests black clothing actually has a cooling effect on the body (as long as it's loose). But that's got nothing to do with whether one should like the design of a kit or not. :)

Yes .....saw that.... but i still think it's a bit strange that someone that important and well known to the fans isn't on the publicity shoots for the new kits

However, I'll accept you wise words and take a large chill pill

There is no "banging head against wall smiley anymore" ...it apparently signed for Chelsea when the site had its makeover last month ... but this one is quite good :suspicious:

You are right, if they think there is a good chance of them being sold they usually shy away from using them on promotional posters etc.

There could be many other reasons why he is not on there though.

Over this idea that our kits will clash with anyone in black & white what would be wrong with the players just putting on their training kit which looks like its red with black/ dark blue sleeves

So what if Rickie & Lallana look pist off with pre season training MLT always looked pist off in training unless he had the ball

Rickie is only upset that Interlaken hasn't got a burger king or if it has Pardew has handed out pics to staff with do not feed this man
