Friday rumour...

Recommended Posts

Possibly yeah. Alot of Argies are dual nationals though.

I believe Franco has an Italian passport, so I presume his brother would too? The surname certainly smacks of Italian descent.

EDIT - seems to be applying for one - http://www.tribalfootball.com/juventus-favourites-racing-star-zuculini-seeks-italian-passport-228165

Well, bruno is also wanted by Napoli and according to the Gazzzetto dello Sport "è stato seguito da uomini di fiducia del Napoli." which sounds like they're going to make him an offer he can't refuse.;-) The article also says he's well built and according to Argentine observers has more potential than his brother. Possible loan signing for a year is the only way I can see us getting him.

Been on Racing's website - no news items (no great surprise there) but Bruno is 17 years old & made 7 first team appearances for Racing in the 2010 Clausura Championship. Racing finished 8th in the Championship and are one of big 5 clubs in Buenos Aires so he must have something about him so I'm not surprised a bigger European team is looking at him.

Even if true, surely we would have the normal problems obtaining a work permit!

The Zuculini brother's have Italian parents so therefore have dual-nationality so a Work-Permit would be necesary.

I wonder if Cortese's Italian links have anything to do with this deal, whichever brother it is (if any)

I wouldn't value our first 11 combined at much more than 8 mil!

Well that is just daft. Even if being conservative with some values and putting Lallana at £3m it would still come in much higher than £8m.

Lallana £3 million

Schneiderlin £2 million

Lambert £1.5 million

Fonte £2 million

Puncheon £600k

Barnard £400k

Hammond £400k

Dickson £500k

Richardson £500k

Davis £200k

Jaidi £0

£10.9 million

There's no way Hammond is worth £400k, for £400k we can sign someone a lot better.

Barnard's price has double in 6 months, from doing what exactly?

Puncheon's has TRIPLED?

-Hammond was signed for £400k, I don't see why his value has decreased.

-Barnard scored 24 league goals in 2009/10, he was signed on the cheap from a team desperate for cash.

-Puncheon is a very good signing, in the PFA team of the year, high in the League One assist charts, just turned 24 years old, so I see no problem with £600k.

Wayne Thomas to be a premiership CB next season?

The article explains he is just training as is common with out of contract players who have contacts at old clubs and want to stay fit whilst looking for new pastures and there is no chance of him playing for Stoke. He is currently a mid table to lower playoff League One standard imo. No chance in the Premier League :D

Ah right.

Odd that he's training with them rather than with us, he must have had a place down here after all...

Why? We can't sign an £8m player in L1, we have the money anyway, we'll have a worse team and less chance of promotion. Lallana has great potential and could make it in the top flight, even at a top club. He's the type of player England have been lacking, if he keeps developing. I'd turn it down.

ML and NC have been clear from the start that they want to run Saints as a 'proper' business. So we don't just "have the money anyway". 8m would be a massive return on Lallana, and definitely worth it. We could do our entire summer business with the payout and have cash left over. Would you rather have Lallana or 5+ absolutely top drawer first-XI players? No brainer.

Even if you consider Lallana as the best left midfielder in the league last season (which personally I do, I'm a big fan of his), you could replace him for 1-2m, guaranteed.

You lot know we would never get 8m for Lallana? I like him as much as anyone but no way is he an 8m pound 23 year old.

If he had just scored 20 goals from midfield and was five years younger the story might have legs, now though? not a chance IMO.

Bournemouth would be pretty happy if we sold Lallana for 8m, wouldn't that entitle them to something to the tune of 2m? Big money for a club that went into administration not long ago..

Ahaa! So, if we don't sell Lallana then Bompey don't get the sell on %, leaving a bit more room for Lifelongcherrytoodlepip to ease his team into control.

Don't go Adam!
