Yorkshire Saint Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 Has quit as did not accept contract for full time role so says Sky Sports now ...anyone no anything about it
hypochondriac Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 Seems to be quite a few people leaving or quitting. The training ground builders, the doctor, the goalkeeping coach.
Yorkshire Saint Posted 8 July, 2010 Author Posted 8 July, 2010 Keith Granger is his namejust been up again ...not accepting full time role at club. Seems a little odd
stevegrant Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 I would imagine he's got another job that he deems more important to him or pays more than Saints were offering for a full-time contract (or both!). Maybe we could get David Coles back...

Yorkshire Saint Posted 8 July, 2010 Author Posted 8 July, 2010 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?19034-Goal-Keeping-coach Old link re goalkeeping coach ....
Yorkshire Saint Posted 8 July, 2010 Author Posted 8 July, 2010 all off to west ham perhaps....KD next ?

Matthew Le God Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 (edited) Strange this has made SSN it is hardly groundbreaking news... As far as I was aware Keith Granger was a youth goalkeeping coach at the club. Hence why they are currently advertising for a youth goalkeeping coach. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/staticFiles/f2/51/0,,10280~152050,00.pdf Stuart Murdoch is the 1st team goalkeeping coach and scout. SaintRobbie Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 Maybe we could get David Coles back... My thoughts exactly.

YEP, Murdoch is the gk -coach for the first team
Matthew Le God Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 (edited) Maybe we could get David Coles back... My thoughts exactly. Why would Coles leave West Ham days after joining them? Why would Coles want to be Saints youth goalkeeper coach? Edited 8 July, 2010 by Matthew Le God
brmbrm Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 YEP, Murdoch is the gk -coach for the first team Yeah sure, but why let facts get in the way of a good old whinge. NC out etc etc etc
hypochondriac Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 Yeah sure, but why let facts get in the way of a good old whinge. NC out etc etc etc Who said that?
Give it to Ron Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 Keith Granger works in the Docks with my mate. He obviously wasnt offered as much money as he earns there.
stevegrant Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 Does seem odd though Steve that many people who work for the club are leaving don't you think? In general, yes, but I don't see too much of an issue with the club wanting to get some part-time staff on their books on a full-time basis. David Coles moved to West Ham only last week... Fair enough, haven't really been paying attention to other clubs' backroom staff, other than seeing that Coles and Groves hadn't shown up to Pompey's pre-season training. Why would Coles leave West Ham days after joining them? Why would Coles want to be Saints youth goalkeeper coach? Do you have any other tones in your locker other than "tediously patronising"?
Wade Garrett Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 Maybe leaving his present job, for the insecurity of a full-time football job was not a risk he was willing to take. He is a top coach though, and will be a real loss to the club if he has completely severed his ties.
eharty9 Posted 8 July, 2010 Posted 8 July, 2010 keith Granger also coaches an academy feeder on a monday night at kings school astro in winchester
SaintRichmond Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 Keith Granger works in the Docks with my mate. He obviously wasnt offered as much money as he earns there. It is almost impossible to offer anyone MORE than a Docker gets ......
ottery st mary Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 Granger will almost certainly be a millionaire with his wages from the docks these last few years...
Saint_clark Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 Non-story, the club is restructuring at every level to be as professional as possible. I guarantee you the sort of level we're aiming for in the end (Everton, Spurs etc) don't have part time coaching staff.
saint_ben Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 are there any ex saints goalkeepers out there who are now goalkeeping coaches? ones i can think of are Paul Jones now with Wales, Neil Moss now at Bournemouth, Chris Woods at Everton, Dave Beasant now with Glenn Hoddle's academy. anybody know what kevin miller is doing these days?
derry Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 Isn't Granger involved with some football/coaching company developing original concepts used by Saints and other clubs?
westofshannonsaint Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 this seems similar to the "doctor fired" thread.... the club want to improve things by making part time positions full time. the staff in the part time position turned down the full time role (for whatever reason). the club continue to think that it is better that these positions be filled with full time employees. Non-story, the club is restructuring at every level to be as professional as possible. I guarantee you the sort of level we're aiming for in the end (Everton, Spurs etc) don't have part time coaching staff.
westofshannonsaint Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 & I hope KD is taking doing coaching courses just like our ageing striker Connelly.
Trader Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 The doctor - Greg Warner - is now working exclusively for P*mpey. Although remains a Saints fan. Make of that what you will.
westofshannonsaint Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 The doctor - Greg Warner - is now working exclusively for P*mpey. That is a big shock!!! I am stunned to that we cannot afford to pay a full time club doctor more than cash strapped p*mpey... are they allowed to employ new staff? what sane professional would take a permanent job with them? has anyone told Nigel Sellars? (that link is to the p*mpey OS just encase you don't want to click - he is the p*mpey club dr) Trader, I wouldn't normally, but can i ask you to reveal your source?
westofshannonsaint Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 apparently, p*mpey owe.. Dr Nigel Sellars, Woking..........................£15,000.00
John McAndrew Posted 11 July, 2010 Posted 11 July, 2010 Keith is a local lad aswell...went to millbrook school

When I say "working exclusively for P*mpey" I meant in a football sense. He is a GP and works in football part-time. Reveal my source? No - but is 100% reliable. Edited 11 July, 2010 by Trader

Did he do work for p*mpey at the same time for Saints? If so, is the reason that he is working 'exclusively' for p*mpey that he is not currently doing work for any other football club? that said, it is a little concerning that the club have let their part time dr go before hiring a replacement. Not really, the medical team can function without one part time Dr. Especially considering the bulk of the squad is abroad.
westofshannonsaint Posted 12 July, 2010 Posted 12 July, 2010 Not really, the medical team can function without one part time Dr. Especially considering the bulk of the squad is abroad. true & according to the club doctor thread we have a sizeable medical staff.
Trader Posted 12 July, 2010 Posted 12 July, 2010 Did he do work for p*mpey at the same time for Saints? Yes.
