Simon_UK Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 Just got back, comfortable win for a dominant Saints, 4 good goals, another chalked off for offside, and we also hit the crossbar. Sorry couldn't tell you who scored, were left guessing who was who from the squad list, as no-one at Win City seemed to know who was wearing what number.
itchen_dan Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 Seems that Mcglashen has been on trial at Brizzle Rovers this pre season aswell. http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/89843-six-triallists-at-hereford/
LeBenali Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 The Echo labelled Harlee Dean's performance as "impressive", anybody that was there agree (that's if you knew which one he was!)

Saints Mad Si Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 This must be Dean : http://www.daggers.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10692~46397,00.html 23 Appearences, 9 Yellows, 2 Red - I think he maybe a little hot headed!!
St_Tel49 Posted 10 July, 2010 Posted 10 July, 2010 The Echo labelled Harlee Dean's performance as "impressive", anybody that was there agree (that's if you knew which one he was!) He was constantly organising the people round him. He is obviously a leader and has ability too. His goal was a well taken, unstoppable header. The City keeper had no chance with it. I have to say that he looked and behaved a lot older than 18 to me. I was quite impressed with most of the players on the pitch. McGlashen's disallowed "goal" was a beautifully flighted ball bent round the keeper into the top corner. I thought he had a lot of potential. The young fair haired No 9 showed some nice touches and looked like he had the potential to be a "hold up" type striker. Still has work to do though. It might only have been the youngsters but I enjoyed watching them. They are obviously being coached to play it out from the back rather than hoofing it. (Not that they didn't hoof it at times!). The triallist keeper seemed pretty good but wasn't really tested.
westofshannonsaint Posted 11 July, 2010 Posted 11 July, 2010 Based on the way he writes alone I hope he doesn't sign for us. can you understand that? to quote Abe Simpson... "I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too." ...thanks for everyone's updates
Matthew Le God Posted 11 July, 2010 Posted 11 July, 2010 (edited) 75 "professional" photos of the match. http://www.pitchsidephotography.com/Football/2010-11/Winchester-City-1-Southampton/12887297_q8MyP#930606428_8UnzE Some of the Winchester players weren't in what you would call peak physical condition! Also clicking the link will give many to see that the away goalkeeper shirt is light blue. The away shirts also look great in a match situation imo. Look at the ref in picture 37 Edited 11 July, 2010 by Matthew Le God
Appy Posted 11 July, 2010 Posted 11 July, 2010 Based on the way he writes alone I hope he doesn't sign for us. They ima rip that motorway to make up 4 loss time LOL
the saint in winchester Posted 11 July, 2010 Posted 11 July, 2010 Why would we be trialling 18 yo just learning the game? They're surely years away from our first team.
Matthew Le God Posted 11 July, 2010 Posted 11 July, 2010 Why would we be trialling 18 yo just learning the game? They're surely years away from our first team. Do you not think Southampton will exist in a few years? It is called building for the future.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 11 July, 2010 Posted 11 July, 2010 Not to mention we have had younger players than that in the 1st team squad- Oxlade-Chamberlain isn't even 17 yet.
Crab Lungs Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 I particularly like the picture 14 and Ryan Doble's "camp hand" gesture.... http://www.pitchsidephotography.com/Football/2010-11/Winchester-City-1-Southampton/12887297_q8MyP#930606520_QtV7m-A-LB
