Would I be right in presuming Bart hasn't travelled with the squad?

Sadly, you would be right in saying that. He recently failed a medical at some Portuguese team, and has his heart set on leaving Saints. Sad really, as I always thought he had potential. Realistically though, he wouldn't get a chance to displace Davis here...

Good luck to him.

Shame and surprising given his comments in the echo a few weeks ago. Maybe the contract offer he received was not what he wanted?

either way i think he's too good to be a backup GK in L1, he deserves first team football somewhere.

I'm suprised he has stuck it out as long as he has. We really were spoiled with to have him as a backup. God forbid anything serious happened to Kelv this year, I reckon we would come to wish we still had Bart in our ranks.

it's ok, we've got forecast!

Pernecky is 19 now so i'd use him as our number 2 if Bart does leave.

Pernecky was taken out of the squad list on the OS last week suggesting he may have been released - I think his contract was up. But I've not seen anything official (or unofficial for that matter)

Who is "Doc"? A trialist perhaps?

Good thinking. So, all we've got to do now is find a connection between a footballer's name and a famous doctor. Should keep us going for a few hours.

I'll start us off. Any of these fit?

btw did anyone else have a momentary double take on viewing Paul Wotton bare chested on the day 4 pics?

I thought Louis Spence had joined the squad

This trip looks like it has been fantastic in every aspect for the squad so far.

Also gives credence to the idea that there are no more signings on the way, as I doubt they would want any players to miss out on something like this and feel like they weren't part of the squad.

TBH I didnt notice Wooton in that pic. I was trying to see the tell tale signs of someone photoshopping a new body under Lalana's head!!! He doesnt look like he has much holiday on the off season and must have spent every day in the gym FFS!

It's weird that most managers have been quoted talking about transfers, pre season, hopes for the new season etc etc but nothing from AP at all for weeks now. I'm not really bothered as long as he is still here which is evident by the photo's and that he has the support of NC but just feel it is strange we have not heard from it.

If I was being cynical it would cross my mind that NC has told him to get on with the job and stay clear of the media. I think a couple things last season put NC's nose out of joint for example AP saying how important local media was for a one team city like southampton which could have upset NC considering he was/is having a dispute with the echo.

Funny how our players look as it they are enjoying their time away from home and bonding with their team mates, shame our national players couldn't be bothered!

Ideal situation would have the entire squad on tour but I doubt they would postpone the tour while they wait to tie up all deals. We have lost more 1st team players than we have signed so I wouldnt be suprised if we see anyone else come in. I wonder if someone was signed tomorrow, would they be sent out to join the squad or would they be kept back till the squad return?

I'm impressed with the team bonding day.

This is exactly what we missed last pre-season and we paid the price with our early games.

This should stand us in good stead come August 7th.

Surely we're going to get off to a (rare) good start to the season after all this?

Right, I usually hate these kind of articles on the OS, really cheesy etc, but did anyone else really chuckle with the "Within minutes Radhi Jaidi, Kelvin Davis and Dan Seabourne were all sent to their hotel rooms in shame for 'persistent spinning'" comment?

Just me?

The whole article actually put a smile on my face.

Not that i am condoning there utterly **** performance but there is a difference between being away for 10 days with club team compared to up to 6 weeks with national team.

If they did have a doctor out on the tour he would be furious as would a health and safety official.

None of the Saints players wore helmets whilst cycling to training, Radhi Jaidi was cycling with no hands on handlebars, someone was filming whilst cycling and the squad were jumping off a bridge into a canal.

Shocking stuff! ;) :D
