Crikey....No Pardew in those pictures...

Nah, first few days leave it to the fitness coaches mwahhaahaahaa.

Which reminds me, when does my team start pre-season training?:-(

Great to see the club are going to keep us posted on events on a daily basis.

With recent observations/accusations about lack of communication flying around I had visions of two weeks of more threads on here about the club keeping us in the dark, but it would appear those fears are unfounded.

Would be interested to see a list of all League 1 clubs and where they are for their pre-season training. I rather suspect there won't be many in such a spectacular location as this.

Nice one SFC.

Why was my Saturday park training sessions never held in a location like this?

Best I had was a view of the South Downs from a ****ty farmers field in Okeford Fitzpaine

Drat, wish I'd known Saints were flying into Basel airport, would have gone along to meet them. I know now they'll probably fly out of Basel on the 18th but drat again I'll almost certainly be away in Alsace or The Black Forest again.

Will try to find out exact details on Tuesday.

Come on Mancsaint tell us the real reason your going to the The Black Forest again

My scouts tell me its because you wish to gorge yourself on black forest gateaux and you have a thing for austrian wenches!

Well I fly into Basel airport on the 12th... not quite the same, but hey ho

Sorry Steve can't get to airport on 12th (21.40 arrival I assume) I am expecting my best mate to arrive from Sweden at about the same time. Will see you at Thun no doubt. I'll be wearing a Saints shirt from the Friends Provident era. Will need get new shirt when I get back later next month.

Mancsaint.

PS 30+ degrees today so Saints will be sweating buckets during training.

My waistline has already expanded way above recommended levels so it's only a small helping of Black Forest gateau .......with a large roulade (the Swiss name for a Swiss Roll) on the side. Plus a nice grosse bier.

My thing is for German 18 year old blond wenches actually, Austria is too far away from the Black Forest.

Hmmm not long to Oktoberfest and the Blonde German Wenches clutching 8 Wonderfully big glasses of beer with those serving wench tops on their dresses...

Oops meanhwile

Any spot Michael Owen on the flight today?

Tell you what. Apart from being at Thun (I think...) I'll be at the Plymouth game and if you buy me some wonderfully big glasses of beer (a couple of Summer Lightenings should do) I'll wear a serving wench top... It'll be me last fling before the diet and pre-season training.

At Thun I might wear a FP shirt, but it's so hot and humid on this side of the Alps that I suspect a red and a white vest top is as heavy as I'll go.

Yeah that works

Except that I am flying home on 4th August (phew!)

Looks like I'll have to manage a pre-season friendly (Reading)

Now I'm also flying back from the US overnight on 1st Oct and landing at 7:35am, and cleverly I am flying on to Dubai at 21:40 that evening (lot smarter than my trip out of here on Monday morning - I forgot about the WC Final being at 22:30 local - just the exact time I have to check in ), so all I need is a volunteer with a fast car to get me from SMS & the Bournemouth game back up to Heathrow....

And I get to watch us thrash LifelongCherrypip's mob :vuvu:

's'OK, you can get me one in somewhere: The Platform Tavern, The Junction, The South-Western, even The Waterfront if you want.:-)

By the way peeps: what does Steve Grant look like? I reckon my subs are soon due....

Mr Pardew gets a few mentions but still no photograph.... ;-)

Boo - looks like another managerial c*ck-up....

So they completely messed up the planning of how to get the players to the training ground and had to resort to bikes. Why can't we afford a coach?

What would Health & Safety say? highly valuable footballers (well apart from Pulis who luckily isn't there anyway) are simply NOT trained in the dangers of mountain biking along such a narrow pathway.

What happens when they are tired. We could lose a star player for the season or worse through drowning! How could they get him out that river, the banks are so HIGH?

Stupid, unprofessional risk taking, look how terrified that player is in the first picture.

Everybody OUT

Is Adam Lallana on the trip? No picture of him and no picture in the kit launch too (as someone mentioned previously). Hmm ?! Might just ask official Saints on twitter, while I am at it?

Nope, I'm on an early sleazyjet flight out of Gatwick, arriving at 10.45

In that case I may be there to say hello. If I do I'll be wearing a grey Saints cap.

Best regards

Is Lambert there? I don't think they've mentioned him once (I've not fully read the articles)

You can just about see him in one of the pics, they all have their squad numbers on.

I fly out to Basel on Monday, been told it's unlikely I'll be able to get any access to training during the week as the training complex is a "secure compound", which sounds rather sinister

Not to worry Steve. If you squint your eyes you might just be able to make them out here
