Mole1 Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I promised not to post for two reasons. One, the ****e I received on here by people who had nothing better to do than pick wholes in my punctuation, which begs the question, why should I enlighten some complete strangers who only seem to revel in nit picking while by doing so would potentially loose an old friend. Two, I gave them until my wife gave birth, (see did on wed morning) so now I'm released from my promise, but the more I think about it I just don't really think I've got much to gain blabbing on an internet site something that was told to me in confidence. I must say that without at all trying to tease that it would make bloody amusing reading to many...It'll keep! I never know where the commas should go either. Can someone please explain how it works?
solentstars Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I never know where the commas should go either. Can someone please explain how it works? you have to ask our experts on here who get turned on by our spelling errors.
Weston Super Saint Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I heard this really amazing news about the takeover yesterday. It was really detailed and excellent news. I don't think I should tell anyone on here though, because someone might pick wholes in my spelling and grammar, and that kind of knock back would be really hard to take. I guess I'll just have to keep the news to myself and you guys will have to miss out on the really excellent news that I really was told yesterday. Sorry about that. : roll :
Snowballs2 Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I work on the basis that as long as people understand what I am writing ,then spelling does not matter one bit at my age. Too many on here are either failed school teachers or nit pickers!
Roman Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Pendantic! Hmmmm, let's see if he bites! I'm hurt! diggers was complaining about people correcting his punctuation, not his spelling. Here I am, doing my best to be helpful and all I get is sarcasm. I am never going to post on the subject again. Ever. And Snowballs, for Heaven's sake put spaces after your commas, dammit!

You forgot to add the unstinting loyalty to a mate / alien met down the pub. Who has fed you so much ****, that you should require an outlet in Langstone harbour.
trousers Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Well said T 'T' for 'Tommac'? Just a guess. Could be wrong.

In fact i think you could be the next carol vorderman.
Amesbury Saint Posted 29 November, 2008 Posted 29 November, 2008 I really hate to start another "takeover" thread but at the same time it is important that this forum gets up to date "report back" if it is going to be taken seriously. I was lucky enough to be a guest of corporate hospitality at Doncaster yesterday. Also there was J Fulthorpe and, because we had both placed lucrative bets we fell into an interesting conversation around the Ladbrokes desk, post match. Without going into the nitty gritty he insisted the takeover is still alive and could happen this week. I told him that everyone was fed up with the "its about to happen any moment" rumour and now was the time to deliver or shut up. He accepted that criticism and said things had been awkward recently (Rupert) but he was confident "it" would happen. I asked him where the money was coming from and if the credit crunch problem would harm things. Apparantly the "money" is from the USA/Germany/Canada. . Two months on is JF still speaking about a takeover?
NickG Posted 29 November, 2008 Posted 29 November, 2008 of course it is Morph says so...oh no he predicted then went quiet (talking about this time he did this not last time!)
diggers Posted 29 November, 2008 Posted 29 November, 2008 Thing about this take over is, you've got to secure your foundations before anything concrete can happen.
buctootim Posted 29 November, 2008 Posted 29 November, 2008 Thing about this take over is, you've got to secure your foundations before anything concrete can happen. Yes. Getting the money in place is a pretty fundamental foundation. It would have been nice if he did that first, before launching the "I'm coming to the rescue, off the record of course ho ho" spiel of the past months.

He was telling people the money had arrived two weeks ago......forget him ...he is walter mitty and he wont be taking over our club
Master Bates Posted 30 November, 2008 Posted 30 November, 2008 I bumped into someone who knows Fulthorpe yesterday, that's it really.
Window Cleaner Posted 30 November, 2008 Posted 30 November, 2008 I bumped into someone who knows Fulthorpe yesterday, that's it really. I too bumped into some yesterday, a lady coming down the path in the opposite direction whilst we were both out running in the forest. Went down in quite a heap. Don't think she knows Mr Fulthorpe though.

OldNick Posted 30 November, 2008 Posted 30 November, 2008 Thing about this take over is, you've got to secure your foundations before anything concrete can happen.Diggers you know more than most, is the foundation a case of keeping their assets in place after the credit crunch or the money people coming in having their funds secured?
Wade Garrett Posted 1 December, 2008 Posted 1 December, 2008 Thing about this take over is, you've got to secure your foundations before anything concrete can happen. Big problems then if it is being built on shifting sands.
