YES YES YES! I suggested Frazer as a HCDAJFU signing a couple of seasons ago when he was at Leeds - 2 years late for my wish list, but still happy! Bags of experience at this level and was the Leeds captain. A very good signing, I'd be interested to know how much we paid, but I guess that could come out in the future.

 

Only today on the other thread I said I'd be happy when we sign a right back, and I am. Harding as back up? Or more to come? This has whet our appetite for more now!

They do sound utterly peed off. I remember all those times in the noughties when we were selling our best players - it wasn't a great feeling. It's so nice to have the shoe on the other foot, but I do sympathise with them a touch.

 

I notice they fancy signing Jackson - I expect most of the top teams in League One and the whole of the nPC will fancy signing him tbf...

They have huge debts. They now have a tiny squad with out of contract players leaving and have also sold Shelvey to Liverpool and Bailey to Boro. Desperately trying to avoid administration. They won't be anywhere near as strong as they were last season.

Excellent signing and quite a shock. Was in London over the weekend and read the football pages in the South London paper. In the Charlton news there was coverage of Nicky Bailey going to Boro but not a mention of anything about Richardson, so definitely well kept quiet. Also interesting that it seems it was the fee offered by Saints that clinched the deal. It does look as if they are prepared to use the financial muscle, which is a very positive sign, and with Connolly signed as well my optimism is on the rise! Midfield next?

I am very happy with this and it proves the point that nothing will be announced until it is on our OS.

 

Many of the Charlton fans seem to think we paid over the odds for him with many of them saying they only expected around 200k-250k because he only has 1 year left on his contract.

 

Either way, extremely satisfied with this piece of business and long may these type of quality transfers continue!

what do we need another striker for ? Lambert,Connolly and Barnard is that not good enough for League 1? We must have someone in the reserves who is good enough to play the odd game ,we need to be careful about signing too many players isn't it 25 senior players maximum this season? No point in signing players you can't put on the roster.

I must say kudos to the Echo. In lieu of my phone not getting SWF, I use the Echo's mobile site to keep up to date with the latest things Saints, and that's how I found out. Granted they probably got it from the OS, but useful nonetheless.
