** EDIT** The commentators have picked up the fact that the ref didn't pick up on the encroaching during the Paraguay penalty.

Not harsh that Xabi Alonso's one was retaken at all, there were at least 3 Spain players well inside the area when the kick was taken.

 

Paraguay's one should probably have been retaken as well for the same reason, so while Spain got away with it on Cardozo's one, they didn't the second time. The keeper's challenge on Fabregas from the rebound was also a blatant penalty

Yeah, I meant it was harsh because I'd definitely seen encroachment during Paraguay's but hadn't really noticed it when Alonso stepped up. With you on the Fabregas pen too.

Paraguay had a perfectly good goal disallowed in the first half, and their peno should have been retaken too.

Well played Paraguay, their coach got his tactics spot on, they just ran out of steam. Agree with Alps they should have been one up at half time

Probably extra time and more penalties would have been right. At least the players would have found it hard to encroach from the half way line:D
