View From The Top Posted 30 June, 2010 Share Posted 30 June, 2010 Just re-read it after nearly 2 decades. What a work of genius it is. A seminal book of late 20th century America. Am I alone in thinking this?
jeff leopard Posted 2 July, 2010 Share Posted 2 July, 2010 its an unforgettable read, and the way it holds back on the really nasty stuff until the second half of the book works brilliantly. and the chapters on bland 80s pop stars that follow each really horrible murder are hilarious. i've not read any of his other books but the film version of 'the rules of attraction' is well worth a watch. bpsaint Posted 2 July, 2010 Share Posted 2 July, 2010 Awesome novel, a fantastic combination of one of the sickest and hilarious books of all time, some genuine lol moments, graphic sex scenes too. Looking forward to Reading it again when I go on holiday.
Saints1980 Posted 3 July, 2010 Share Posted 3 July, 2010 Fantastic book and by far the best thing he has written. Have not got on with his latest stuff at all.
Saint137 Posted 15 August, 2010 Share Posted 15 August, 2010 Think its brilliant. Remember buying it in a bookshop in Above Bar and chatting up a very fit assistant by discussing feminism vs misogny (I was like 18 at the time and fresh out of 6th form) and whether it was the ultimate feminist book. Got her number as well
