And if someone asks me where to look for that replacement... I would direct them to Peterborough.. and hurry before someone else gets there.

But lets hope a replacement is not necessary !

Do you rate Lewis then? A lot of Posh fans were very unimpressed by him last season.

I rate him as one the best young keepers in country..

Last season he was behind a very poor defence, there were changes in management and coaches he had to deal with.

He knew both Man Utd and Arsenal were tracking him very closely.

That's a lot of pressure for a young keeper.

He came through it well, I thought.

His basic goalkeeping skills did not suffer, nor has his confidence.

Joe actually lives quite close to me, and I did coach him for about 4-5 years, until he left Norwich.

So, you could say I am biased..

I have also coached several league keepers, 2 of which went on to play international football (Richard Wright & Rob Green)

I can honestly say I have every confidence Joe will go on to represent his country for quite sometime.

No way! I don't see KD moving anywhere, he was outstanding last season.

Bart is merely covering his options. He's played VERY few games in the last 2-3 seasons and no-one wants to sign an " under-employed" Polish goalkeeper.

He's obviously happy with his deal at SFC and wants to stay...where else would he go ? besides he's a good stand-in if KD has injuries.

Every season we need to jettison the " spare " keeper..(there's normally 4 or 5 on the books) and as there is always the U18 / youth keeper coming on.

This year it was Michael Poke's turn to go. Those in the past stayed and stayed and still never made it to the first team as a regular ; Moss, Blayney, Bevan, Paul Smith remember him ?

I don't think Green will move from W.Ham either. He's a competent keeper and with a decent defence would be even better.

He's wasn't totally to blame for the USA result either...what happened to the 50 goal England strike force on that day.?

Goalies : barring the unexpected...NO change.

What has changed in 12 months. Just prior to ML arrival Kelvin had a contract at WestHam. All he had to do was to sign

it, he even had a temporary house arranged as part of the deal. But as soon

as The club was saved Kelvin reaffirmed his future to SFC. So why when we have a secure club and a exiting season in

store, with his name first on the teamsheet, would he

leave to sit on

the bench?

How many have come on and said he shouldnt go as he is hard to replace? Read any thread on here about him and you get loads of critics. Too many remember a mistake in his first season and have never forgiven him. Add all the nonsense posters who say he doesn't come for the ball and doesn't distribute the ball, but then add he's a great shotstopper lol

I don't take what people say on this site as evidence of what the vast majority of Saints fans think... that's like a flea thinking it owns the dog!! ;)

The world is full of critics - how many people write to their favourite resturant to tell them what a wonderfful meal they had? Sad but true.

Your just not listening... he will not be going to sit on the bench

This time West Ham are wanting to replace Green, who desperately wants away...

Last season West Ham wanted him just as cover .. THATS THE DIFFERENCE

Pat, re your earlier post what value do you think would be placed on Joe Lewis and would Posh be prepared to sell him anyway? We could, of course, throw in Forecast to sweeten the deal (if you'd kindly mention that in the appropriate ears).

Last year Kelvin could have just walked, but now has two years left on his contract so we could ask a decent fee if he did want to go. Any thoughts on how much that might be...

I would offer £500k as a first offer, maybe go up to £750k

Would he come here.... yes he would buy into the 5 year plan, and be at his peak just as we reach the Premiership.

Besides he would have me nagging in his ear about how good a career move it would be.

It worked with one of our other keepers, albeit a loan move:)

His mate, Richard Wright, has always said that the Saints fans and the facilities at the club are the best he has experienced, he would advise him.

Re Kelvins value.. £250-350k.... but in all honesty he is worth more to us if he stays.

I thought the key reason Kelvin did not leave last summer was because he has a very young family that is settled here in the South? A year on I doubt that has changed. I can't see him leaving. He had his money move to the Premiership in the bag. It was his choice to stay. Why would he change his thoughts now?

Bart is looking to stay because he is ony 22 and knows his time will come, in the mean time he has been on a very decent wage thank you very much - so if they offer something similar he'll take it.

Dave coles gone to WHU

A complication, but I think it's West Ham trying to keep Olly.

He needs a GK coach he can get on with.

Malcolm Webster is a big influence in Robs career, and would have recommended Coles if he was asked.

OR. it could be a condition that David James wants.

Hodgson to Liverpool could also be a spanner in the works.

Bart IMO is very shy as a person, and that is a major problem for a keeper.I will never forget his performance at Exeter a season or so ago.I then lost all confidence in him ever being reliable enough to be our first choice.

Very sorry but Bart is a very good but young keeper, he played 8 games during KD's injury last season and we won 6 of those. If he had one bad game does that make him a bad keeper? Does that mean KD is a bad keeper when he has a stinker and he has had a few of those believe me. I have every confidence in Bart should the need arise.

It wasnt having a stinker that was my concern , but the way he performed. I would love others who saw him that night give their views. It was comical.

I want him to do well, as he plays for the team i support, but I do have reservations.I will support him if he is again number 1 but i do feel fans need to realsie that he may not be as good as they think

I have it on good authority, from a 99% trustworthy source that Bart is on his way to Portugal - not sure if it is a loan or permanent but you heard it here first.

According to a Polish website he failed a medical prior to a transfer to Braga.

On one of the workouts Sporting goalkeeper Quim had suffered an achilles tendon injury. This made the club interested in signing the young Bialkowski, which would be a substitute to number one Eduardo.

Nice name!
