Out of interest, what would you consider to be a "fair/correct" price for this game?

It's perhaps unfair to blame the club over ticket prices given that the price is determined by both clubs. From the Carling Cup rules....

22 Tickets

22.1 Immediately after the draw is known the two clubs concerned must mutually agree the prices. all questions in dispute must be immediately referred to the Management Committee for settlement.

The decision to not allow ST holders first option on tickets to claim their own seats is a bit daft though; unfortunately another small sign that the most loyal customers are not being put first.

It is slightly frustrating that as a season ticket holder I am not able to claim my seat, but I would have thought that I and most others could get our own seat if we purchased a ticket when they 1st go on sale for the game? So no real problem to me.

OK, our group live in the following...

Southampton

Bognor Regis

Fareham

Romsey

Netley

So for us to get tickets it means alot of transferring of money about, one person buying all the tickets then collecting if off various people.

Hope this gives you an example of why it's a pain in the @rse not having any season ticket seat claim window.

I thought you were no longer having a season ticket because of the withdrawal of the installment plan?

Our ticket office manager Nicola Cortese has managed to actually INCREASE the price of kids tickets based on normal league prices.

Genius. lol

I noticed that too. For this game, it would be 16 plus 10 = 26, whereas I can buy a pair in the Family Area for 25, normally. What happened to kids for a quid/fiver, and all that,

If I remember last year against Northampton, We were just sold a seat and were directed to the part of the ground where it had not filled up causing large queues, At least this year you will have a seat and you will be able to go straight in.

There are lots of people who go to matches on their own and only see their football mates at matches. They might have had great banter with them for years but only talk to them about football and know them by their first names - they are not in a position to arrange to sit together for cup matches. Therefore, season ticket holders should be able to buy their own seats so this is not a problem -football is supposed to be a social event, after all. If they sorted the flaming official website out properly, so it was quick and easy to order tickets where you wanted them, it would be very much appreciated and save a lot of grief heading in their direction.

I honestly don't believe most people would consider this game even remotely big. Just because Bournemouth are up the coast hardly makes it even a sligtly big game. We have no rivalry with them. £16.00 and £18.00 on the day is almost laughable for the first round of the CC.

For what its worth i have not renewed my season ticket on the grounds that the club are taking the **** with regards to increased ticket prices and neither will i be going to this game.

As I've asked on this thread and no-one has bothered to answer, what would you consider a fair/correct price for this game? We'd all always like cheaper tickets, but I wouldn't realistically expect less than £16 a ticket for a game like this.

I think for the first round a tenner for an adult ticket is a fair price, with maybe a fiver for youngsters/oaps.The idea is surely to encourage as many fans as possible to attend.

Im sorry i dont buy into all this rivalry with Bournemouth rubbish.I think thats being used as an excuse to hike up the prices. If the club continue to over charge us fans for everything, then i bet attendances, especially for these early cup games, will be a lot lower than expected.

Birmingham last year was £10 for me via the website - not sure if that was discounted or if that was across the board.

Yes, this is certainly not the first time this has been done for a tin-pot cup tie. I'm pretty sure we did some unreserved pay on the gate cup matches at The Dell.

Anyone know what the 'Payment Plan 25%' and 'Payment Plan 50%' options mean in the delivery method box?

I did wonder this, and made me chuckle given all the whining about there being no installment plan :D

Well for League games it works out at £15 for me and £5 my nipper with ST's, this League Cup game is £26 for both of us....if I choose to pay Dunes ticket tax thats £9more for Bournemouth in the cup than I will pay in the league home game.

I bought my ticket at the Ticket Office at 10:30 this morning. My seat had already been sold.. What happened to the Supporters' Charter and having priority for your 'own' seat?

Where's your seat? If it's in the Kingsland I may have got it this morning :D

Tell you what I'll swap mine with yours for a small admin fee of course :D

Yup, Kingsland row O centre-line. Don't worry about swapping. I'll just turn up early and put itching powder on it. :)

Last season I quite enjoyed being forced to sit in crap stands and random seats for the Carling Cup and early JPT games.

This year, due to some ill-will towards our ticket pricing monkeys and the additional hassle of getting the tickets in the first place without paying Cortese Tax (and I won't), I'm in two minds whether to bother going to the additional games or not.

Good work, the club... :sulk:

I'm in the same position, I'm sure once the football starts I'll change my mind but I am going to try and just do aways and maybe the odd Tuesday at St Marys.
