Asturius Hospitality is part of the Asturius Group. It's been suggested on this forum that the Asturius Group has been setup to takeover Saints. Therefore it's positive sign that they are starting to recruit staff. It shows things are on the move. A takeover could be very close IMHO. Am I reading too much into this tenuous link and just suffering from Fri takeover syndrome? Roll on next Fri.

Isn't it more of a sign that they're nothing to do with Saints?

Quite possibly but if this the case why did Diggers (who knows John Cousens quite well) throw this Asturius hand grenade, out of the blue, into the mix on another thread?? (See post 001 on this thread):confused:

Interesting, although it is Friday and things are normally shut here, the guy who washes cars in the car park at my local Spinneys Supermarket saw the Saints badge on my Jeep and said - hmm I heard that a local operation that is very big and failed in a bid to buy a club may be looking in your direction.

 

Personally I still prefer JP's mistaken use of English saying the first team squad is worth 50mil and we sell the lot and buy ourselves back as more likely but hey ho. Now you know as much as I do. Ain't that absolutely sod all again!

i have heard from a few people at work today that there will be a big announcement on friday to do with the takeover,from what i have heard it,s merrington and 6 businessmen,this is also to include a 50 million war chest and shearer as manager,this came from a steward at saint marys,i have my doubts after all the recent takeover shennanigans,please don't shoot the messenger.

I have to say all this "a steward said" is no more than what is going around at the moment. The stewards will have no more inside info than the next guy. Plus to add that the bits about shearer, the money invovled, singapore etc have bee around for weeks and now are coming to the surface

I do know John, I was his best man and am the god father to one of his boy's. we don't speak all the time but what I will say is that he and his colleges have been working tirelessly to bring about change. I"m surprised nothing has come out lately, but I do know that recently I purchased a small piece of land next to my house, and that took five months and loads of stress, anyone who thinks you can just buy a controlling interest in a complicated business like a football club, (and who knows what else at the same time?) in a hurry have probably never been in a position like that themselves so shouldn't really comment. There, I didn't actually give anything away did I?

Does this have anything to do with pub recruitment?

 

You see, I am am finding it hard to reconcile this with buying a football club

What I mean is, that all these little snippets have been around for a while and it is becoming more widley spread. This time around it is taking a lot longer for things to come out and people are keeping things they hear to themselves

I'm really not very good at this posting stuff am I? Trouble is I post what I think is a valid reply to a genuine point and some smart arse takes the **** out of a typo and totally ignores the point made. If I had more time to read through my posts instead of rushing them between replying to work emails I might earn more respect from mr Dubai and his cronies. I'm retiring from this thread which is probably my karma kicking in as if nothing happened next week I might of been able to shed more light. Never mind, its probably for the best. Diggers out X

Dude. You have my respect. You came on and posted and gave the source. That makes you about 1,000,000 times better than most of the ITK'ers.

 

There is something going on in the background, but as you have noted it isn't simply about having a money guy, even if the group did it can still go wrong.

Trust me, in 15 years of building companies in the ME, Pakistan & Africa, I am ONLY too aware of 1) what seemed done wasn't and 2) ok so where's the money.

 

In fact these days I make a living out of telling new comers the bleedin obvious here..

 

So chill, we don't shoot you, we shoot the despair of hope not being fulfilled each week.

 

Many learnt lessons last year, there are many more snippets that trundle around, but you were in a strong enough location to give more hope.

 

Oh and btw there ain't no cronies, just a bunch of more careful sceptics than this time last year.

 

My ONLY worry with the information you released was that it could have been timed to cause unrest or undermine the new regime rather than move the "project" forward and I did say that at the time.
