(a) The russians didn't qualify

(b) there has been no holocaust during the competition

© Switzerland are participating in the World cup, but pretty much stayed out of WWII

(d) Japan seem to have won people's hearts in this competition, but weren't so loved during the conflict

(e) There has been no rationing of items in this country

(f) People have not been called up to fight

(g) There are no concetration camps at the World Cup

Do shut it with your ridiculous petty bile. WW2 would have been over-and-done with before the US and the USSR came to their f**king senses if we hadnt stood alone for 18months.

 

And the USSR were on the German side at the start.

 

And the Americans were as interested in making a mint out of us for old rope and stealing our thunder as world superpower as they were in stopping the tide of fascism across the world.

Whilst it's true that we defended ourselves against the Germans successfully, it's retarded to devalue the Russian and American contributions to WW2. We may have been able to secure our territory but without the Russians and yanks we wouldn't have been able to advance on the continent at all. Plus even though Britain suffered in the second world war, the Russians payed by far the biggest price of any country, the battle of Stalingrad was the most horrific battle the world has ever seen.

You are absolutely right. But if we hadnt won the Battle of Britian, Germany would have had air superiority over Britain, would have invaded, and then the Americans would never have been able to get a foothold in Europe. And Russia were not strong enough to defeat Germany alone.

 

The world would look a very different place now, especially as Germany would probably have unilaterally nuked the US eastern seaboard with the "New York Rocket" they were developing.

The Battle of Britain was crucial but if we had lost that there were plenty of other places that the American could have used as a foothold. Spain, Northern Africa. The tide turned once they pitched in and the Russians kept their nerve. Hitler, like Napoleon, over reached himself.
