Colinjb Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 And just like that they have equalled Derby's points tally of last season. 6 games it took, compared to 38.
Baj Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 Two properly good goals for Hull as well, whilst Arsenals was a scrappy OG.

Saint Martini Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 Weren't they almost relegated the season before the went up and only saved because Brown took over just in time?

Saint Martini Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 (edited) And we finished 4th bottom last season......... Damn, we should have kept Pearson. He would have taken us to 6th in the PL! It was the Brazilian's first goal for Hull since joining in the summer from Manchester City. ... The changes nearly had their desired effect on 80 minutes, but Van Persie's strike just evaded Myhill's right-hand postl. I guess Fulham drew with Hull then on the opening day? The funniest thing is that they do say its his second goal below the picture of him celebrating. Arizona Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 Weren't they almost relegated the season before the went up and only saved because Brown took over just in time? Yep. It was between them and Leeds to go down IIRC. On something like the 3rd to last game of the season we beat Leeds at home in the last minute, whilst Hull got a last minute equaliser. When it was read out on the PA, the Leeds fans got quite upset. :D

Papa Shango Posted 28 September, 2008 Share Posted 28 September, 2008 I'm absolutely loving Hull doing so well at the moment. The Prem needs freshening up badly at the moment, and it would be good if all the promoted teams could stay up (Think WBA and Hull will but Stoke won't in the end). Always thought Hull would stay up, thought they bought brilliantly in the summer, Phil Brown looks like a really good manager.

They're breaking new ground every day they're in the Premiership, as they've never been in the top tier before - yes, even the old First Division when football was only played in legend. If ever there was a division that needed freshening up, it's the Premiership. Frankly, I'd like the big clubs finding themselves all doing a Leeds Utd. It would be so healthy for competition. And Arsenal would break new ground themselves by actually being relegated for the first time in their history, and their fans would know despair for once. Very character building. equalizer Posted 28 September, 2008 Author Share Posted 28 September, 2008 Yesterday Arsenal got a lesson in how to score IMO. Giovanni's goal was excellent I'm sick of Arsenals "Look how cute and sexy our football is as we try and pass the ball into the back of the net" attitude. How many times did they get into a scoring position just to try and pass to someone else. Just shoot ffs!! Unfortunately Saints seem to be trying to do the same! Still I bet Arsenal were the best footballing side that Hull have beaten so far this season!
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2008 Share Posted 28 September, 2008 I predicted Hull and WBA to stay up this year, with Stoke, Bolton and Portsmouth going down.
