Scudamore Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 It's TFI Friday but with football. Here's hoping Matt will do a Shaun Ryder.
Guy Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 If I wanted to watch an unfunny fat bloke I'd just look in the mirror.
Colinjb Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 It's TFI Friday but with football. Here's hoping Matt will do a Shaun Ryder. I would rather he did a Patrick Stewart to be fair.
MongoNeil Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 If he actually had God on his show, not just Le God, it wouldn't be enough to force me to watch that unfunny fat ****.
doggface Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 If I wanted to watch an unfunny fat bloke I'd just look in the mirror. Bit harsh on Tiss
sambosa75 Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 a lot of heat towards someone who it comes across is only disliked for being a bigger boy. Fair play to him I say. He's enjoying his fame and making the most of it. Not exactly his fault. I'd hedge a bet not many people on here have had a smash hit comedy commissioned by the BBC. He's not my cup of tea personally but I'm not going to sit here and hate him because he happens to be overweight.

But THINKS HE IS. And is the biggest arseliccker since Jonathan Woss. Apart from that, he's fine.
Arizona Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 I think Adrian has hit a whole bag of nails on the head. Being fat isn't the main reason I hate Corden, although it is a nice added bonus. As has already been stated, he is an unfunny mong who appears to be on every TV show, awards ceremony and even the UK charts. Luckily I'm not in the UK so I wont have to make the decision whether or not to watch the show.
Joensuu Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 Is it rude to quote yourself? Agree, his post World Cup show is awful, he just talks endlessly like a nervous housewife on speed. The jokes tend to miss their mark, but at least having Ms Crouch gives him a witless comedy foil. I don't care what weight he is. He simply isn't funny. Also, is is just me, or is Gavin & Stacey overrated. Sure it's funny in parts, but it's hardly laugh a minute, it's overacted, and doesn't have the clever situations or cringe factor of say the Office of Peep Show. Obviously it's better than 90% of the dross they call comedy (anyone see BBC 3's Scallywagga?), but is being vaguely palatable really enough to be given your own show. Let's face it, he's in his thirties, and seems to still be stuck with the 'Nuts/Zoo/Loaded' humour of a misogynist 17 year old. Again, I don't care what weight he is.
del boy Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 So one talented witty fat bloke...and James Corden. Nice!!
St Steve Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 He must be doing something right and people who pay him must find him funny and the general public must like him for the people who pay him to continue paying him.
RedFear Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 hmmm, hating someone for not finding them funny....seems a little harsh
thorpie the sinner Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 mate of mine met him in street! He was rude, arrogant and obnoxious and full of his own self importance! Add to that the fact that he isn't funny, enough said!
Psycrow Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 He must be doing something right and people who pay him must find him funny and the general public must like him for the people who pay him to continue paying him. People pay to see Roy Chubby Brown. Case Rested
Psycrow Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 Its not only that he's not funny, but he relies way too much on jokes about being fat himself... but as soon as someone else does it (Patrick Stewart) he has a problem with it.
suspect everyone Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 Did anyone see this? I watched most of it just to hear what Le Tiss had to say, however apart from a little introduction at the beginning Le Tiss didn't get a look in. It was unbelievable, he just sat in the corner of the studio looking a little sheepish. What was the point in inviting him on if you're not going to talk to him? First Hoddle, and now Corden have overlooked Le Tiss' talents. That grates.

suspect everyone Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 Ah right, didn't realise it continued on another channel. I switched off after the ITV1 portion had finished. So...was there any Le Tiss insight later on?
OldNick Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 yes he was on a lot more later, including showing his hat trick in the International match. He was introduced as one of the greatest skillful English players of all time. Also the Xavi article about how he thought MLT was the best. Having the gorgeous Shakira on also made me happy to watch the show. Mrs Crouch is a nothing and adds nothing to the show.As for JC, i find him as just a good lad who is engaging, not hilarious but far more talented than Lenny Henry

TopGun Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 Corden is a charmless fat f**k with no talent. He has rocketed into top spot of the people I dislike on TV. Jamie Oliver is now at number 2 after months at the top.
Saint J 77 Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 I love the episode info at the side of the ITV player Football legend Matt Le Tissier and Peter Jones join James Corden as he presents an alternative look at the World Cup with Abbey Clancy, celebrity guests and a studio full of fans. Nice to see him get national praise for his talents that he never received from the England managers in his playing days.
St Landrew Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 The ITV4 bit with Le Tiss: http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=153459 I love the episode info at the side of the ITV player Football legend Matt Le Tissier and Peter Jones join James Corden as he presents an alternative look at the World Cup with Abbey Clancy, celebrity guests and a studio full of fans. Nice to see him get national praise for his talents that he never received from the England managers in his playing days. I was certainly a bit of fun. Reminded me slightly of Fantasy Football League, with Baddiel & Skinner. They used to sing his praises every other week, and IIRC, spearheaded the campaign to get Matt into the England side.
Turkish Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 he is about as funny as a chinese burn. Just the average fat bloke in the pub who is loud and people describe as having a great sense of humour because that is the only thing mildly positive about them. I enjoyed Gavin and Stacey, so hats off to him for that, but his world cup show is gash and even Jamie Redknapp is funnier than him on A league of their own.

Didnt they do a skit of hoddle dreaming in bed, and matty walking through his bedroom door? Or is the memory playing tricks again?
saint_bert Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 Not strictly on topic but matty here owning a skate
Fan The Flames Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 He's ok its good to see someone else on TV than Dec & Ant.
Cricketphilly Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 I don't think Corden proports to be a comedian. He was/is a stage actor (History Boys) who wrote and acted in a comedy series or two.
Saint_lambden Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 Le Tiss must have felt awkward when Peter Jones said : "you would have to be mad to get involved in owning a football club"
John B Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 I have read the thread with interest as I have never thought Corden funny but thought I must be missing something
OldNick Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 I have read the thread with interest as I have never thought Corden funny but thought I must be missing somethingit could be that a lot on here have no humour. Considering Harry Hill is supposedly a comedy genius, then perhaps Im missing something there
John B Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 it could be that a lot on here have no humour. Considering Harry Hill is supposedly a comedy genius, then perhaps Im missing something there I think we must just be getting too old
Gordon Mockles Posted 24 June, 2010 Posted 24 June, 2010 James Corden is funny. Nice bloke with good attitude too. I think some of you need to lighten up & have a humour implant!!
fareham saint phil Posted 25 June, 2010 Posted 25 June, 2010 Baddiel was such a big fan he done the commentary on MLT's "Unbelievable" video
