Redondo Saint Posted 22 June, 2010 Posted 22 June, 2010 Any news on where our released players are headed next season? (club wise!)
doughnutman Posted 22 June, 2010 Posted 22 June, 2010 Otsemobor has gone to Sheffield Wednesday. Not sure if any of the others have found new clubs. HTH.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 22 June, 2010 Posted 22 June, 2010 Michael Poke signed for Brighton. They're releasing a DVD of it next week.
patred44 Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 No worries, Antony Pulis is still with us:rolleyes:
Redondo Saint Posted 23 June, 2010 Author Posted 23 June, 2010 just interested that's all! I thought Gillette would have found a home by now but it's still early days I suppose
John D Posted 23 June, 2010 Posted 23 June, 2010 Think moves will happen in July when contracts run out
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 1 July, 2010 Posted 1 July, 2010 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8249872.Exeter_chase_ex_Saint_Thomson/ Echo speculating Thomson could be on way to Exeter
Tom28 Posted 1 July, 2010 Posted 1 July, 2010 I'd expect to see one of Wayne Thomas or Graeme Murty back with us before the start of the season as cover at right back.
stevegrant Posted 1 July, 2010 Posted 1 July, 2010 Thomas is too expensive for what he offers (in terms of the injury risk), so he won't be back unless he takes a massive pay cut - we're talking 50% or more, I suspect. As a result, he'll probably get a contract with a Championship side, Barnsley and Norwich were in for him a while ago, not sure what's happening now though.
david in sweden Posted 1 July, 2010 Posted 1 July, 2010 I'd expect to see one of Wayne Thomas or Graeme Murty back with us before the start of the season as cover at right back. it will most likley be Murty - as long as he regains 100% fitness.
LeBenali Posted 1 July, 2010 Posted 1 July, 2010 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8249872.Exeter_chase_ex_Saint_Thomson/ Echo speculating Thomson could be on way to Exeter http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8250231.Ex_Saint_signs_for_Exeter/ Now confirmed.
Doctoroncall Posted 1 July, 2010 Posted 1 July, 2010 just interested that's all! I thought Gillette would have found a home by now but it's still early days I suppose He's the best a man could get so I'm waiting for a top side to sign him. Meanwhile, James has been on trial with Colchester.
SuperSAINT Posted 5 July, 2010 Posted 5 July, 2010 Simon Gillett set to sign for Doncaster today http://www.thestar.co.uk/sportheadlines/Rovers-set-to-sign-Gillett.6400509.jp
Saint Fan CaM Posted 5 July, 2010 Posted 5 July, 2010 Simon Gillett set to sign for Doncaster today http://www.thestar.co.uk/sportheadlines/Rovers-set-to-sign-Gillett.6400509.jp Very interesting indeed. Forgot he stood in for Stock when injured and we were looking at Stock (still are?). Looks like he impressed as now Gillet is stepping up a league, but possibly to warm the bench?
trousers Posted 5 July, 2010 Posted 5 July, 2010 Any news on where our released players are headed next season? (club wise!) The easiest way to work it out is to watch Sky Sports News on Saturday 7th August. All the goalscorers for other teams will be ex-Saints players.
Arizona Posted 5 July, 2010 Posted 5 July, 2010 Very interesting indeed. Forgot he stood in for Stock when injured and we were looking at Stock (still are?). Looks like he impressed as now Gillet is stepping up a league, but possibly to warm the bench? We were playing Oldham away when Gillett made his debut for Donkey. Was driving back down to Lincoln and ended up listening to their post match radio show. They seemed pretty impressed with Gillett and there were a couple of phone ins praising him. If BWP can move up a League like he did last summer, I'm sure Gillettt can.
Marino Posted 5 July, 2010 Posted 5 July, 2010 Since it was a mutual agreement to cancel his contract, presume Molyneux will sign for Vale where he was on loan at the end of the season ?
S-Clarke Posted 5 July, 2010 Posted 5 July, 2010 Since it was a mutual agreement to cancel his contract, presume Molyneux will sign for Vale where he was on loan at the end of the season ? He didn't play a single minute of football with Vale though, was on the bench once or twice but thats it. I expect him to turn up at a BSP team.
doughnutman Posted 5 July, 2010 Posted 5 July, 2010 Wotte wants to take Kayne McLaggon (and possibly Gillet/James) to Egypt with him to play at the club he is now managing.

ribbo Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Tom Dunford had offers at two league 1 teams but has taken up a place at an American College program He turned down Yeovil as they're not big enough according to a couple of Islanders in the know
chrisobee Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Ollie Lancashire Trialling at Walsall http://www.web-fans.com/walsall/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=767%3Awalsall-trial-southampton-defender&catid=1%3Aas-it-happens Blimey, a very unusual thread on there ! Anyone else getting worried about the lack of signings?
skintsaint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Ollie Lancashire Trialling at Walsall http://www.web-fans.com/walsall/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=767%3Awalsall-trial-southampton-defender&catid=1%3Aas-it-happens Reading that wherever he plays bad things happen....coincedence?
Chez Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Ollie Lancashire Trialling at Walsall http://www.web-fans.com/walsall/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=767%3Awalsall-trial-southampton-defender&catid=1%3Aas-it-happens good move for him. I wish him all the best. I have a feeling he will come good given time to develop.

oxfordshire_saint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Wayne Thomas is training with Stoke, but only because he lives in the area and they are helping him out.
Joensuu Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12875_6259968,00.html Must have done ok as Sky are saying they've signed him now! Only a one year deal mind... it's not like Walsall are taking any risks. This sounds like it's a make or break season for Ollie, if it's not successful I doubt too many proffessional clubs would be interested in giving him another chance.
Tamesaint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 (edited) Why does Wayne Thomas choose to live in Stoke??? He comes from Gloucester and his last 2 clubs have been Saints and Burnley - both nowhere near Stoke!! I mean ...Stoke is almost the Portsmouth of the midlands. Edited 14 July, 2010 by Tamesaint

He used to play for stoke so maybe he still has a house up there
Bucks Saint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Any news on where our released players are headed next season? (club wise!) For Your Eyes Only?

You don't have to live IN Stoke to play for Stoke. South Cheshire is one of the nicest places to live in the UK, From Buxton to Alderly Edge, all very nice and just up the M6 from Stoke.

markr27 Posted 18 July, 2010 Posted 18 July, 2010 He's the best a man could get so I'm waiting for a top side to sign him. Meanwhile, James has been on trial with Colchester. Colchester has offered Lloyd James a contract, so we'll be seeing him at St Marys in September if he accepts... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_6268485,00.html
VectisSaint Posted 18 July, 2010 Posted 18 July, 2010 The easiest way to work it out is to watch Sky Sports News on Saturday 7th August. All the goalscorers for other teams will be ex-Saints players. That will be Michael Poke's first goal then I presume.
jimmysaint7 Posted 18 July, 2010 Posted 18 July, 2010 according to the pink he will play for sutton united

SuperMikey Posted 19 July, 2010 Posted 19 July, 2010 Rumours circulating that Wayne Thomas may be offered a 1 year deal here by AP as cover for CB/RB. Can't believe that's true myself, unless WT is having a hard time finding a club, as we all know that he needs the regular income to provide care for his severely disabled son.

Can't see it being true as Thomo wanted to move up north and had been using Stokes facilities to keep up fitness whilst hunting for a new club.
sidthesquid Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Interesting that Thomson, Poke, Gillett, Lancashire & now James have all been picked up pretty quickly. All good young pros but not quite at the standard that WE expect.
Gorgiesaint Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Not a released player but a former player - I see Yoann Folly has signed with Aberdeen after a trial. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/aberdeen/8854102.stm

He is on trial at Doncaster Rovers. He played for them last night.
