Micky Posted 21 June, 2010 Share Posted 21 June, 2010 'kinell TDD, nothing like stating the bleeding obvious. They have been a pile of shyte upto now (and I include the USA game in that too), now they have one game to play in order to bail thier sorry asses out. I actually hope they do play a blinder and then go on to do well in the rest of the tournament. That said - if they crash and burn on wednesday - then I think it's time that English football took a long hard look in the mirror to see wtf is going wrong... Upson could change for Dawson or stay, not really worried, Upson has played with Terry before back there though so not a bad shout. Lets go an the f*cking job done. One thing that needs to happen is that youth facility that is laying unfinished needs to open and we need to get some younger players in the national full team. However, do you really believe he will drop the lazy, lets just amble around in midfield for 90 minutes and do sod all, Lampard?? I really hope he does. England will win 3-1 I meant the team that Delldays chose as the side i agreed with. So maybe try Defoe in the second half when the Slovenians get a bit tired so he can feed off Lennon - his team mate. Rooney needs to be on his toes to make sure he isn't the one standing aside as the Lennon-Crouch-Defoe club combo would make appeal. And throw Milner on for Barry if things get desperate - he shoots like a cannon.
Hatch Posted 22 June, 2010 Share Posted 22 June, 2010 Desperately need an early goal. If it's 0-0 at half time, they fear and panic will engulf them and we will probably end up losing. OldNick Posted 22 June, 2010 Share Posted 22 June, 2010 I wouldnt be surprised if Cole or Terry are not in the starting line up. Capello may wonder if he looks weak if he now plays Cole. Joe Cole on the left for a bit of magic and Lennon with speed on the right and Rooney up top on his own. Some may say negative only playing one striker but with the other 4 coming forward from midfield there is plenty of goals in that team, Johnson & Cole are attacking full backs too. St Marco Posted 23 June, 2010 Share Posted 23 June, 2010 Basically the players are to blame. When you earn 100k a week i wonder how important an England shirt is to them? If we crash and burn tonight i think we need to change the system in English football. We have so many good foreign players but a lot of **** ones too, those **** ones are still better then a lot of our national team! We just arnt producing great players. If we fail we can't blame the manager anymore. We are so quick to place the blame on anyone but them when in reality they are the ones not bothering to play. They will take a lot of heat. If it happens then we need to think for the future, do what brazil did and drop people with huge egos who consistently fail to perform. If we go out tonight players like lampard, swp, Barry, heskey, carragher, james, king etc should be removed from selection. If your going out there to play like that then they should let the under 21s be there instead. They will at least put in the effort. I hope we win, but the pressure on the players is now huge. Rather then play well were already hearing excuses as to why there not. The players owe us big.
