saints_is_the_south Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 According to the BBC these 2 have had 3 shots on target between them in the 1st game, expecting a yawn fest. A draw won't do for either side though so who knows.
hamster Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Greece never scored at WC finals! Not looking likely to change that stat. Shame as they're one of my work's sweep teams. 1-0 free kick. Oh well.
stevegrant Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Not entirely sure what the Greek keeper was doing... it was going straight at him, then all of a sudden he just dived out of the way
hamster Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 To think that only 6 years ago thet were champs of europe! Bring on Charisteas (sp) I say.
hamster Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Get in. That has to be the goal of the tournament thus far. Tempted to get my voovoozella out and give it a blow. My syndicate dream is still alive and well.
Um Bongo Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 The red card, while it was the right decision, looks a bit laughable when you see the Greek player go down. Embarrassing.
sydney_saint Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Well, imho that was game of the world cup, or at least that second half was the half of the tournament. Fantastic match, this is what world cup footy is all about
Saintandy666 Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Wow, the pace of games and stuff has really picked up now we are in the second round of the group stages. Hope I haven't spoken too soon though.
Dark Munster Posted 18 June, 2010 Posted 18 June, 2010 Amazingly Nigeria still has a decent chance of progressing: if they beat Korea, and Greece lose to Argentina, they're through. Not often a team losing the first 2 matches has such a good chance.
