ecuk268 Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 I see that poor old Kevin says that his Hampshire future is in doubt because of the difficulty of travelling from his Chelsea home to the Rosebowl. Considering how many times that he's played for Hampshire in the last few years, I can't see the problem. Does he not realise that thousands commute every day from this part of the world to London? He'll be no great loss if he goes.
chrisobee Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 No loss at all, as you say he hardly ever plays and he's complaining the travelling is too much and this is the man who flew from the West Indies and back for the WC 20/20 ! I think he really needs to get some perspective on life. He'll play ( maybe!) on Sunday and I imagine that will be that, such a hardship:rolleyes:
Leicestersaint Posted 17 June, 2010 Share Posted 17 June, 2010 Well it's a shame because we have so very few top players - maybe if we had managed to ahve a better season he might have been more interested.
JustMike Posted 17 June, 2010 Share Posted 17 June, 2010 with the central contracts more than keeping his head above water financially we were never going to see him much anyway. Were we paying him a wage too?
Gorgiesaint Posted 17 June, 2010 Share Posted 17 June, 2010 Confirmed that he's leaving at the end of the season. As others have said, no great loss considering he hadn't played for us for nearly 2 years until the other day. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/counties/hampshire/8746686.stm If he's complaining about commuting to the Rose Bowl from Chelsea, then odd on he moves to Surrey - would probably be quicker to get to the Rose Bowl than Lords from Chelsea!! corsacar saint Posted 18 June, 2010 Share Posted 18 June, 2010 Good riddance, and he wonders why he will never be as popular as Andy Flintoff. Perhaps the fact that he is not English, and never knows when to keep his mouth shut has got something to do with it. 20 Games in 6 years tells its own story as well.
