They'll only be given an absolute maximum 4700 tickets, although would expect that to be reduced to allow for bigger segregation.

And walking frame parking.

As it's a cup game wouldn't Bournemouth be entitled to 15% of capacity? Even though it's a cup game I can see them bringing more than 2,500 since it will be the first competitive fixture between the sides since 1978.

It has been a long time since we played them in an competitive fixture but not quite that long ago. I seem to remember then knocking us out of the same compitition back in the late 80's with a draw at The Dell 2-2 and I think they won 3-2 on agg.

I notice they seem to have fixed the problems with the servers on the official website which was causing the news to be released at midnight.

This is excellent news.

My mistake, got my 7 & 8 the wrong way round. It was 1987!

Carp draw and a bit of a 'hiding to nothing' for us. They will be up for it, the cup's a great leveller, etc etc. I don't see this comp as a priority although I would expect AP to play his strongest side at this stage of the season. Banana skin written all over it! Should get 20k if tickets are priced properly (max £15 for me to travel 300 miles mid-week to watch fairly non-descript opposition in a semi-meaningless game).

oh good..a chance for them lot to try and big up some sort of hatred here..

I hope we just beat them well and let them go on their way

Agreed, they're really starting to do my head in.

A lot of Boscombe supporters try to drum up some sort of rivalery, they're like wannabe Skates. It wasn't like it 20 years ago, I don't know if it's a Redknapp thing or what it is, but I hope we hammer them.

Why?

Look at it from their point of view. They're 30 miles away from us, have mostly been in the 3rd/4th tier compared to us mostly 1st. We are a massive local neighbours to them so of course they're looking forward to playing us. Look on it as a mark of respect, flattery even.

Nice easy win, is the second round seeded too? When do we play Pompey?!

We won't I'm afraid. Stevenage will be knocking them out in the first round.

Pardew to field a reserve team for this so that we can concentrate on the league this year....?

I can't see AP doing that. He's been around and he knows all about how the local derby mentality works and the effect it has on the fans.

He can field a half strength team, if he wants to and we go through, in the next round.

Unless, of course, the FCSBs also get through and we draw them!

I know their fans are t0ssers, but it never, ever ceases to amaze me the amount of drivel their fans come out with. I'd love them to collapse; apart from Portsmouth, there are very few clubs more deserving.

A thrashing in the CC will do for the moment though....

great! an excellent opportunity to show them how fond we are of their club, looking on them as our friendly little neighbours.

lots of "stand up if you like bompey" please & polite rounds of applause when they cheer on their team.

should p*ss the bastards off ;)

Don't agree with those saying it will be a easy win, AFCB will be right up for this one.

Did'nt we lose at home to them at the Dell, evening game in the 90'S ? Same thing over confident and our cherry friends playing like it was their cup final.

Nothing to do with the League Cup 1st round tie, but something to do with League One. I notice the new tables are already out on the BBC website. Have a good look Cherries, it'll be the only time you're above Saints. :D

League One Table

Blimey, we're in relegation dogfight!

Looking forwards to it. I know there's not really any local rivallry from the Saints side, but the local interest should be enough to draw in a decent crowd and atmosphere. Can you imagine how dead SMS would have been if we'd drawn Northampton again?

A good one to chant to **** them off, to the tune of we've got Antonio...

"We've saved you loads of times, we've saved you loads of times..."

And Saints fans wonder why they dislike us, it is because of this arrogance.

It was a few friendlies FFS which benefited us as well as them, likewise with the loaning of young players to get valuable experience who went on to become first team members (Surman, Lallana).

Blimey, a Saints fan who talks sense. Whatever next.
