SNSUN Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 I'm looking forward to this game tonight, I genuinely hope the underdogs win. I may even have a can of Fosters while watching it.
St Landrew Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Well we all like to see an upset, but what's the betting Germany beat Australia predictably and reasonably efficiently..?
sydney_saint Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 If you have seen our style of play you would be less inclined to support us. We have Kennedy up front who is like Heskey minus any aerial ability. Can't see for the life of me us getting anything out of this game, maybe a 1-1 draw but I can't see where our goals are going to come from. saint_bert Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Cant be any worse than the two games earlier. Can it?
sydney_saint Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Cant be any worse than the two games earlier. Can it? Considering we are effectively playing without any strikers, I fear the worse
alpine_saint Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 One nation of ABE's against a nation who play as tedious football as Uruguay. Can both sides lose somehow ???
Smirking_Saint Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Wow, that was a masterclass from the germans, movement, passing, creativity and finishing.
S-Clarke Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Pretty ominous from the Germans! let's hope we do the biz and finish top of our group, don't fancy playing them this early.
St Landrew Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Saw the game earlier. The Germans were predictable. They played well. That's how predictable they were.
S-Clarke Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 They're like the opposite of us. Alot of their players struggle at club level (Klose/Gomez/Poldoski) - yet when it comes to the world cup they suddenly look like world beaters. I knew i made the right move putting Klose in my fantasy team, probably should have scored more tonight - but he'll always get chances.
Graffito Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Impressive performance by the Germans. Their passing and movement were excellent. The Australian defence was so flat and high up the pitch though it was untrue.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 Put a fiver on Germany to score 4 or more at 7/1, only £35 but every little helps.
saintdownunder Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 They out classed the Aussies and should of scored a couple more.
Saint Martini Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Funny to see how the Germans are perfectly executing a "Dutch" 4-3-3.
skintsaint Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Aussies are truly gash, they showed this last week v USA where they lost 3-1 and it should of been at least 5 if the US were any good themselves. Germanys next two games should give a better indication of how good they are this year.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 (edited) Best game of the tournament so far. At least the Aussies had a go and didn't try to stroll through the game retaining possession for its own sake, like a lot of sides so far. As for Germany - I would rather have a tenner on them at 16/1 than England at 6/1. Of course, it helps they've been playing with the Jubalani in the Bundesliga since December... Frank's cousin Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Good game, impressive display. even against an opposition that was not on form and looked jaded at times. What was impressive was they kept the ball on the deck and passed through the middle and yet also had a great deal of width - Lahm was superb, Ozil looks like he has the potential to be world class, and they were less impressive without his creativity. Klose is an enigma... will probably get 5 again and be joint leading scorer with Ronaldo, without ever really reaching those heights with his club... Podoloski's 82 mph strike showed how to hit that ball! Average age is just under 25 so suspect this world cup might be a bit early but Euro 2012 and Brazil 2014, would be a good bet now.... dune Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Germany looked excellent with their build up play and passing. They're the team to beat in my opinion.
Saintandy666 Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Germany won't win in my opinion, as a good start generally isn't a good sign... but wow, they were good. If we come up against them in the second round, I'm worried.
smart_one Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Why the Germans where so impressive?? It could maybe to do with the fact that they have been using this "New Ball" for the last season in the Bundesliga....

Frank's cousin Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 and that the aussies are utter turd and were down to 10 men this world cup is pants Well I see your point, but thats more to do with the fact that many players (particularly Prem league which by its very nature seems to attract the greedy types...) think more about the CL and their wedge than they do about playing for their country now...
