Redbul Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 I don't like tea. Is there something wrong with me? Should I see a doctor? Yes. Yes you should. I have at least a gallon of the stuff a day. Couldn't get through the day without it.
ecuk268 Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 I don't like tea. Is there something wrong with me? Should I see a doctor? Definitely not. There's quite a few of us non tea-drinkers out there. We keep quiet for fear of ridicule.
Arizona Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 I only drink tea at work. I would at home too, but I just don't have the patience to wait for the kettle to boil and never bother.

BadgerBadger Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 I've always drunk tea apart from when my brother kicked me in the knackers and that put me off tea for a while, strange but true
saint_stevo Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 milk before water, or water before milk?
bridge too far Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 Water before milk, undisputedly. And only Yorkshire Tea. And preferably tealeaves rather than bags.
JonnyLove Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 The whole milk before or after debate can be concluded as follows. Poor people used to put milk in first because they could not afford the china that the rich people could. The milk helped cool the tea down so not to crack the cups. Rich people always put milk in after because of their better china. Therefore it should always be milk last unless your too poor to have a decent cup. (My personal favorite way to make a cup of tea is Brita filtered water using a PG pyramid bag then topped off with full fat cravendale milk)

ecuk268 Posted 16 June, 2010 Share Posted 16 June, 2010 So, where in Yorkshire do they grow this tea?
bungle Posted 16 June, 2010 Share Posted 16 June, 2010 All depends on how you make the tea, doesn't it really. If you are making your tea in a pot then it makes absolutely no difference when you put the milk in the cup. If you are making your tea in the mug, then you must brew the tea to desired strength first, take out tea bag and then add milk.

hamster Posted 17 June, 2010 Share Posted 17 June, 2010 All depends on how you make the tea, doesn't it really. If you are making your tea in the mug, then you must brew the tea to desired strength first, take out tea bag and then add milk. I make the best cup/mug of tea that I know, hate others making it for me sept mrs h as I have honed her skills down to a (ahem) T. At work I regularly make a mug and don't get around to drinking it until it's cold due to my frantic working ethic. But by far TGE best cup of the day is the one that i make post lunchtime, leaving the bag in and getting the full hit to see me through to the end of day staff briefing. We hade a lovely cuppa on Sunday up in Newbury. There's a tea room just opposite Victoria Park by the canl where they make the tea with loose leaves and you get individuall china cups and saucers. They are all different as I think they get them from charity shops, it's extremel quaint and one can't help but **** one's little finger when sipping it. Lovely little tea strainers too. It was pretty darned idyllic when the swans politley wait canalside for the odd crust. We had the foresight to purchase a loaf of bread in Tesco which we shared with them, also giving out slices to toddlers who were about, which offered amusement as the swans towered over them making one little lad run away crying and almost went straight into teh K&A! I was already preparing my front page interview for the local rag should he have actually required saving. My old Mum takes hers 'weak and milky' just like 'baby tea', it looks and tastes like pee and she is from Yorkshire, dispelling the Yorkshire tea be best myth. Do you fans of Yorkshire tea really believe it to be any different because of it's branding?! You have been brainwashed by the TV ads just like the fans of that chimpanzee tea, they are both nice teas but the best tea imho is Sainsbury's Red Label...and it's cheap.
