Dark Munster Posted 11 June, 2010 Posted 11 June, 2010 96-7 from 17.4 overs Trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
keithd Posted 11 June, 2010 Posted 11 June, 2010 lost. terrible wicket but should never have lost from that position. diabolical
saintkiptanui Posted 11 June, 2010 Posted 11 June, 2010 97 all out. That is a fantastic collpase, the best so far this season, good job.

corsacar saint Posted 11 June, 2010 Posted 11 June, 2010 Supporting Hampshire and Saints, should carry a government health warning.
wadesmith Posted 11 June, 2010 Posted 11 June, 2010 Do you think this Hampshire team cares? Ah mate, I'm in no doubt they care, I think they've just had a total shocker. The wisdom of signing Simon Jones (about 10 games in 5 years) Kabir Ali (great player, injury prone) and thinking we'd get Afridi (mega player, nutjob maverick who was never going to turn up) on the other hand has left us with a pretty average team. I'm all for us signing one of the above...but anyone with an ounce of sense should have seen the iceburg approaching. Peterson back on Sunday though, & at least our bowling looks ok.

Although I agree with what you are saying it is the batting not the bowling which has been a disaster in the 20/20 which is nothing to do with not having Jones/Ali

I guess i'm just suprised how well the bowling is performing without Jones,Ali & Afridi. To be honest I'm a bit concerned for Hampshire. We've ploughed all this money into the ground & the crowds for the two 20/20 games (Kent & last night) i thought were poor. I hope we can pay for all this.

saint_stevo Posted 12 June, 2010 Posted 12 June, 2010 that was horrific.....lol at 3 somerset fans kicking off in the west end brewery tho.....
chrisobee Posted 12 June, 2010 Posted 12 June, 2010 Bowling is Ok but how do you manage to lose needing just 12 with 6 wickets and plenty of balls to get them in, unreal
chrisobee Posted 12 June, 2010 Posted 12 June, 2010 Supporting Hampshire and Saints, should carry a government health warning. As someone said a while back with Saints doing well it was inevitable Hants wouldn't. At least we don't support Pompey
Weston Saint Posted 12 June, 2010 Posted 12 June, 2010 I spoke to Nigel Cowley after the game (he was the TV umpire). We were discussing the loss of the last 5 wickets for 1 run. He said some time ago when he was playing for Hampshire at Dean Park we lost the last 5 wickets for no runs having only reqired 5 runs to win. Must be a Hampshire thing. Spoke to Tom Burrows, WK, whose contract was not renewed last year. He has not picked up a bat or put on the gloves since! He is busy qualifying as a Lawyer and working at Paris Smith Solicitors. Wants to specialise in sports law.
