What material is it made from? And liking Fonte's new haircut! Unless the backdrop of the Photograph is the same colour as his usual do'?

Is it sad to watch the video at full screen size and click on pause to check out the detailing? Well yes of course it is!

Nice detailing though. Oh and The9 was right about the triangle!

Times to pause it on to see detailing? :D

Beautiful...Really like it...

I'm a bit concerned Lallana isn't there too..hopefully nothing :|

Could it just be a height thing? Would look odd with a shorter player in it? Who's next to Barnard? Can't tell on my phone.

What is it with you and your f*cking vendetta against Cortese? The new kit is out, and you post (on the thread about the kit announcement) some childish insult aimed towards NC. Grow up a bit Stu.

The kit looks alright.

Are you not in agreement that leaving announcements till 11pm at night just to p!ss of the Echo is slightly childish?

Wake up and smell the coffee a bit.

Absolutely love the shirt and love the manner in which the club has portrayed the release - "A kit from yesterday for the team of tomorrow"!!! Says everything about the strategy - very positive indeed. I will be buying one as soon as I can lay my hands on one and I'm not a footie shirt kinda bloke.

Hammond. I think you're right, it was decided on height.

The photos it is based on has the sash both ways. This is due to it physically being separate from the white shirt. Thus some players in 1885 put it over one shoulder and some put it over the other shoulder. You'd think they would realise and be uniform.
I thought it was worn on diffrent sides depending on what side of the pitch you played on ;)

Seeing the picture makes me think the reason for the delay was that they couldn't stop cracking a smile as they tried to look all 'ard and serious.

Yeah, it must have taken a lot to hold that!

Love it!! Well done Leighton & the retail crew :-)

My only question is, is it sashed on the reverse? I would look really smart with red numbering & lettering like England.

If you look at Puncheon it looks like it finishes at the shoulder.

I have also questioned this and hope it is.Although having looked at the photo it appears to be white at the top of the sash on Puncheon so prepare for disappointment.

Keep pestering the club on the badge issue Gecko, that too would have transformed the shirt to an even greater appearance.

Rabbit, I wouldn't suspect anything untoward with the non appearance of Lallana. A couple of seasons ago we used Kenwyne to model the white & gray away kit, he then buggered off to Sunderland a couple of weeks later - bloody agents!

It's as simple as some players don't like to appear in promotional work or he was just on his hols already?

LOVE IT!!!!! white is definately more my colour.....will be purchasing one of those babies me thinks !..... :D (first time in about 5-6 years)

as for the sash on the back, i think it would've looked too messy once the lettering and numbers were laid over it, so probabaly the best decision was NOT to have it .

Looks ****ing terrible

I have been taught through my life to respect opinion.

Therefore I shall say no more.

Classy :)

When is the away kit out? If I'm going to buy online I might as well save some postage and get some of each (have converted the Aussie missus and kids to being Saints supporters of course, so everything suddenly becomes a whole lot more expensive...)

What I want to know is when will the club release details of when the new Lanyard will go on sale for next season with the updated logo. Leaving it this late is just pathetic tbf. Cortese out!!

You voted 'meh,' right? :)

They really haven't fannied about with it, or been cautious. It at once looks retro and modern. Good looking kit. We'll see how good it really looks though, in action in the coming season.

Just done a bit of shifty screen grabbing, heres the bits they flash through quickly in the video...

Why isn't there a love it option on the poll? This is a brilliant kit, looks so so smart.

And those saying how the timing of this release is childish, please just think a little. For people to see the shirt tomorrow they will need to log onto the Southampton Football Club website, not just pick up a copy of the Echo. This is called clever marketing, and I would have thought anyone with half a brain cell would have realised this.

Very happy, nice one Mr Cortese and the team. :)

Disagree with you on that.

Here's an example on a previous thread from someone's mock up :

Think the sash on the reverse is perfect.
