Nippers stood on crates, boxes, steps and stools at the front. Wooden rattles although loveable old rosey cheeks tried tha one.
david in sweden Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 What are the things that we don't see anymore when it comes to the Saints? I will start with the Daily Echo not having anymore exclusives. Goals against beating the goals for in the league table. Anymore? Terry Paine ..England right-winger ...and dog-catcher. Explanation: On a poorly-supported Dell evening game (mid 1960's) a loose dog got onto the pitch and the ref. eventually stopped play ...while 20 or so players took nearly two minutes trying to capture the animal. When the dog eventually came his way.. Terry tackled it " rugby-style " and returned it to its embarrased owner on the terraces... and got the biggest cheer of the night.
