Ken Tone Posted 8 June, 2010 Posted 8 June, 2010 Somebody tell me what day the first game is please. You'd think it would be easy to find on the 'net but no. K.
John Boy Saint Posted 8 June, 2010 Posted 8 June, 2010 Somebody tell me what day the first game is please. You'd think it would be easy to find on the 'net but no. K. I would imagine that if the Premier League kicks off on the 14th August we get underway the previous weekend on the 7th.
trousers Posted 8 June, 2010 Posted 8 June, 2010 Somebody tell me what day the first game is please. You'd think it would be easy to find on the 'net but no. K. I'd be interested to know how knowing the start date of the season makes the random prediction of our first game any more scientific to predict....
SuperMikey Posted 8 June, 2010 Posted 8 June, 2010 Oldham at home, 2-1 to Saints Lambert (24) and Barnard (62).
saint-luco Posted 8 June, 2010 Posted 8 June, 2010 charlton away, win 2-0 wotton scores both from 25 yards
John Boy Saint Posted 8 June, 2010 Posted 8 June, 2010 I'd be interested to know how knowing the start date of the season makes the random prediction of our first game any more scientific to predict.... Tea Leaves in the cup or even a trip to Gypsy Rose Lee on the Pier whilst on his Jolly's................ or perhaps his uncle is Russell Grant!
Saints foreva Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 I can't remember us winning on the opening day since I've been a regular. So I guess our season starts 2nd game in.
Shroppie Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 Exeter away. Could be tricky as I see they're having the pitch re-ploughed. http://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/page/Home/
Wycombe Saint Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 Any team away who we complained about having a crap pitch last season. Hopefully their pitches will be in a decent state in August!
Legod Third Coming Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 Someone at home, we draw 0-0, this board goes into meltdown and Alpine announces all his worst fears are true... A load of people who previously supported Pardew lie and pretend they were against him from the start. Another load say that Cortese is at fault and point to too much pressure being applied and team requiring time to gel. Most of us sigh and put it down to our appalling record on the opening day of the season. And eight months later we win the league by 20 points.
dickyhale Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 (edited) Saints Vs. Bournemouth, 25k crowd Us losing 1-0 at half time to the chants of 'Scummers' and 'We're gonna walk this league' and 'We're going to Saints Mary's' from the Bournemouth faithful Fulltime 6-1 to the chants of 'Scummers' and 'The ref was biased against us' from the 6 of the Bournemouth faithful, the other having left after the score got to 4-1 at 52 minutes. Lambert 2, Antonio 1, Barnard 1, Llalana 2 The Bournemouth was singing We're going to Saint Mary's? Any one got a video link of this? edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3PmKALv2yA Edited 9 June, 2010 by dickyhale http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3PmKALv2yA
scott_saints Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 Stupid boy. Would have been stupid if I didn't just say it for a Stuey reaction
bpsaint Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 surley first game will be away (meaning last game at home) because our first game in this leauge last year was at home, pretty sure it always alternates Doesn't quite work like that, there's never any correlation from one season to the next,it's just random. I'm predicting away to Swindon or home to Leyton Orient.
SamKimish Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 I predict Cortese is in talks with the Football League at the moment negotiating the delay in releasing the fixtures, as he believes June 17th gives people far too much notice. Cortese hopes fixtures will now not be released in the middle of August. Apparently teams will have to pay a £3 fee should they look at fixtures online.
dune Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 I predict Alpine will be moaning after 10 minutes on the match thread.
Under Weststand Posted 9 June, 2010 Posted 9 June, 2010 Away to Franchise FC & another comfortable 2-0 win over our whipping boys. Would be a nice start to the season.
trousers Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 I notice the club are promoting their text message service ahead of tomorrow's fixtures being released saying they will send out the fixtures "after 9am"....am I reading this correctly in that they are suggesting that they will send out the fixtures to subscribers ahead of the official 10am announcement (that's the time it's normally announced isn't it?) or is this just a marketing ploy? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2071955,00.html Simply text 'CLUB STHPTN GOLD' to 88442* and we'll send you our fixtures direct to your mobile after 9am on Thursday 17th June. Subscribers will receive: -First 4 fixtures of the season -Boxing Day and key match dates -And the last match of the season
Saint_clark Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 That text thing is worthless, used to be good but now they don't send you any info till after it's announced officially, which defeats the whole point.
dubai_phil Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 Someone at home, we draw 0-0, this board goes into meltdown and Alpine announces all his worst fears are true... the saint in winchester Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 What are the chances we'll get H to Bournemouth, being as we have them after the first Saturday anyway? 1 in 43, or something, I guess?
Dave Benson Phillips Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 What are the chances we'll get H to Bournemouth, being as we have them after the first Saturday anyway? 1 in 43, or something, I guess? I would imagine we will have Bournemouth on Boxing Day away, and home will be possibly Easter, or during the winter months. The police will have alot of say with regards to when the fixture is played.
ottery st mary Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 (edited) Brentford away.........Dickson, Lambert and Lallana. Sorry forgot our new signing 4-0...Clyne. Edited 16 June, 2010 by ottery st mary
stockportsaint Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 Reckon it'll be Carlisle away as I'm working in Reading the week before the first game, so it's bound to be the other end of the country.
trousers Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 Last night I dreamt Wednesday away... I thought mid-week games were playerd on a Tuesday now? *You've been a great audience. Goodnight*
RonManager Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 Last night I dreamt Wednesday away... I had that dream too, good isn't it, although it did go on a bit, causing me to oversleep. I loved the bit on the tram when the elephant got on.
brightspark Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 For some reason big clubs always seem to get home games on day 1 and day 46 of the season. Therefore... Daggers at home! Win 2-1.
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 June, 2010 Posted 16 June, 2010 Somebody tell me what day the first game is please. You'd think it would be easy to find on the 'net but no. K. August 7th. Season ends May 7th, at least it does for us because we shall have been promoted by then. http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/KeyDates/0,,10794~1357319,00.html
saint1977 Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Argyle are a bit of a mess. I know it's only June but I can't see a decent manager wanting the politics and the gates will really drop for them next year. I'm going to say 3-0 to the Saints assuming that we continue to recruit decent players. The threats this year are Hudds (who will get automatic with us IMO), Charlton, Sheff Wed and Peterborough who will have a really good go with Johnson in charge. Can't see Swindon being such a force this time. What sort of reception do we think BWP might get (if he is fit of course)?
Lets B Avenue Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Franchise FC away. We have to listen to a week of that Nob-head assistant-turned manager telling the world that he has us all worked out and we were so lucky to beat them 4 times last season, etc etc. 0-4 Saints. Lambert 2 Hammond and as yet, unknown signing. I, of course, was referring to the 1st away match for the benefit of all those boycotting SMS this season.
Andy_Porter Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 Somewhere away at 3pm. If it's another 12.30 sky home game I will be really ****ed off, Sky ruined the first game of the season last year. They're going to put us on Tele again aren't they?
Andy_Porter Posted 17 June, 2010 Posted 17 June, 2010 What sort of reception do we think BWP might get (if he is fit of course)? I'm suprised you even have to ask.
