alpine_saint Posted 6 June, 2010 Share Posted 6 June, 2010 The club does not have to offer a payment scheme, it does not have to run a payment scheme. The club offers a service that you either can or can't afford or pay for. It is YOUR choice whether or not to pay for this service and whether or not the service can be justified. It is not YOUR seat, it is not YOUR ticket, it is the clubs. You have the option of leasing this seat off of them for a season if you can afford it. There is a lot in life i would like to buy, however do i p*ss and moan if the company does not make it affordable to me ?? No, i decide i cannot justify it or find a way to pay for it myself, such as a loan or CC or saving. I agree Darren W your post is well thought out and written but a lot of fans are currently acting like spoilt brats at the moment, we have a chance to play attractive football, spend money on new exciting players and move back towards the Prem, yet many are p*ssed off about an extra few quid. I agree the club seriously should have warned if the payment plan was being scrapped but it in no way HAS to provide that service. It is not your ticket/seat until it is paid for. Excellent post. Some people want the glory football and promotion, but arent willing to pay the going rate for it. Also hose who are bleating about not affording STs for him and his 3 kids because they have just been made redundant (my geuine sympathies - f**k the banking industry...) or are credit black-listed should have other priorities in life than going to footie every week, imo.... teamsaint Posted 6 June, 2010 Share Posted 6 June, 2010 spot on. some people are happy/prepared to pay the going rate to support their club through years of bad times, and are worried that the going rate will be beyond them if we get back to the PL. cellone Posted 6 June, 2010 Share Posted 6 June, 2010 What's with all this covering your cost's and investment by charging the fan's. Self sufficent is no way to run a business and only a lunatic would think achieving a proffit as sensible.
SaintRobbie Posted 7 June, 2010 Share Posted 7 June, 2010 on this forum. We get mass hysteria and knee jerk OMG, i'm never going to be able to go to a game again, reaction when we cant pay for our tickets monthly, Nicola Cortese is Satan etc. Or the other end of the specturm which is the Cortese is god, he can do no wrong (except if he'd have sacked Pardew) Ryan Dickson is the best left back since Roberto Carlos etc Oh how i long for the days when all people gave a toss about was the team and the football, the days when you'd be hard pushed to name the chairman of any club and the only thing that mattered was 1/ you won 2/ it was entertaining. Pies, queues, burgers, tickets, beer, shirts designs, banner designs etc, who really gives a **** as long as we win/entertain every week? Because it's the debate that makes football what it is and every aspect of a Club from top to bottom contributes in some way to the outcome - beit victorious or not. It is the for the same reason that I am so anti goal line technology; once you lose the human aspect, the debate and the argument, you lose the game... who was it that said 'football was not a game, it is more important than that'? They were right.
