Gingeletiss Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 How long before ML and NC get fed up with the whinging "customers" of their product and up sticks and leave ? A lot of people are never happy unless they are slagging off one aspect of the club or another. If people are upset with ST prices then dont pay it and vote with your feet. If it was not for NC and ML the club would now not exist, people need to be grateful. Sensible post sir, and one I agree with.
StuRomseySaint Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 Maybe so but we were fooked without. I beg to differ. The club would have rolled out the season tickets and prepared for a League 1 season in administration. We had survived through the summer and the start of the season was nearing, we could have run self sufficiant for the next 9 months. Gavynn Davies had also told the club to contact him if it ever got to the stage where the clubs plug was about to be pulled. Yes we were close to going out of business and let's be fair, in that respect, Leon Crouch saved us. I don't subscribe to the theory that they saved us... don't get me wrong,I am happy Liebherr bought us and they have some great plans etc ( apart from ripping fans off in the process ) , but I don't think they saved us... Crouch did.

I don't think League 2... but who knows. Anyway, fair play to them and thanks ( I guess ) but seriously, the love-in that happens regarding them is more cringe-worthy than our relationship with Southend fans. I think people need to realise that they didn't buy the club for us, they bought it because it presented an excellent return on investment and they saw an opportunity to make a mint off us. If people understand that, then maybe we can as fans, make sure that they make their money from Sky and transfers in the Premiership, and not rip us fans off along the way.

StuRomseySaint Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 This is just LAUGHABLE! :smt005 And your response is just laughable because you can't actually even find a reason why you disagree. If you are going to disagree then hows about balancing the debate? We would NOT have got liquidated during the season.

No need to balance statements like that, youre doing a pretty good job of that yourself! :smt005

djharvey Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 haven't you got any homework to do? You are so poor!
Turkish Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 Are you intimidated! I was just going to ask you a football related question and realised you are probably a girl so your opinion means nothing anyway.

You know I agree with the gist of what you are saying but ... how many people buy a business without expecting to make off of it? I think to do that to get back the original investment the club side has to be in a better place .. a lot better .. & they will do everything they can to get us there. Which in general we all have to agree with .. I just dont agree with the choice made re ST I think the advice given & the timescales was poor & is hitting some of the fans who contribute the most.. But still glad they are here, still believe in the aims they have & the drive & direction.. Would we of gone to league 2 .. YES ..
Saint Fan CaM Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 Dear Mr Cortese and Mr Liebherr May I congratulate you on spending a large amount of money to revitalise Saints and thus providing the loyal supporters with a club to be proud of - one that most of us thought we would never see again just one year ago. One day I hope you will see some form of return from the venture - as we all know, even the 'top' clubs find it almost impossible trying to make money from a football club. Please can you continue running the club in a sound financial manner, even though there are a very small minority 'fans' who wish to drain every last drop of your income whilst on the road to the holy grail which is the Premiership (somehow thinking that is going to magically materialise). Congratulations once again on your huge expenditure to revitalise Saints. SRS There - fixed it for you.
Gaucho Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 Dear Mr Cortese and Mr Liebherr May I congratulate you on a very sound and wise investment, one of which I am sure you will see an impressive return on. Please can you try your best not to fleece fans in your quest to maximise your income whilst on the road to the holy grail which is the Premiership. Congratulations once again on your investment. SRS Isn't it agents and the players they that represent that really fleece the fans and the people running clubs have deal to with the consequences?
