dune Posted 4 June, 2010 Author Share Posted 4 June, 2010 Dune seriously - Get a f**king life (or a better job/ credit card) I can afford to pay the ticket tax, but that doesn't change the fact it's a rip off. The only leverage we have as fans to tell the club we're not happy is to talk with our wallets. You may be happy to pay the ticket tax, or maybe you have no principles. saintwarwick Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 Lets all boycott SMS. Lets all boycott the OS. Lets make huge banners saying "We Want Our Club Back" and paste them all over the City. Lets do Demo's outside SMS. Lets... Not. Let's just accept its the way it is. They wouldnt have done this to intentionally single out those who cant afford it and they have spent and continue to spend Millions on our club. Thedelldays Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 I'm sure some spent without due care and attention whilst others watched every penny, I took my daughter, about £200 was spent in all, I'm sure others spent a lot more whereas others spent a lot less there we go... ST were advertised jun 1st (day after most get paid) then you have payday at the end of June...then the end of july..? maybe even spread it out over 4 paydays (end of august) and sacrifice a couple of early games..? careful planning etc

Smirking_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 I agree with the opening the post. The rest of you can continue applauding being charged more money. NC should at least have had the decency of just increasing the ticket price by £3 rather than the ridiculous add ons. Where possible pay on the day away from home so they dont get the £3 just for the privilidge of sending you a ticket. can't believe others can't see THE CLUB ARE TAKING THE **** F*cking lol, so you would rather agree with Cortese 'hiding' the £3 admin fee then actually being honest and saying this is what is happening ?? How do you know it was never already there but hidden ?? How is the club 'taking the p*ss?' How much did we spend last year ? How much better is the club run to the dark days ?? We're in the Third Division FFS - if Cortese thinks he can rip us off to this extent now you can only imagine his plans for the future should we climb the leagues. And how exactly do you get out of the third division? Just go the end of ML's garden and visit the money tree??? This is a business not a charity. Perhaps you should support a local park team and not pay any money to watch - or would you complain about not having free buses to the games? docker-p Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 I love the original post, not least because it's clearly ****ed off the Evangelical wing of Saints fans, who love Saints sooooooo much they simply can't pay enough just to prove their love. Pity so many of them can't make a coherent argument in response and just resort to calling the OP a "tit" fool" etc etc etc. For what it' worth I recently watched a 3rd flight game in france and paid 1 euro entrance. Yes the standard was at least 2 leagues lower than our own third flight, but if you consider Eastleigh charge a tenner entrance, and some mugs pay it!! But some people just love to bend over and take a shafting.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 With the rip off ticket tax, and the shoddy treatment of fans who cannot afford to pay for season tickets in one hit, it is going cost a lot of us a damn site more to watch third division football next season. Cortese must be laughing his head off at the complaints because he thinks he has us over a barrel and the mugs will moan but they'll have to put up with it and pay more. However the extra spent on tickets can be clawed back by boycotting the club programme, club merchandise (including the new shirt), matchday hospitality, the travel club, and food and drink on the concourse. I'm not saying a blanket boycott is needed, but I for one will be making a conscious effort to spend less on the extras next season. That might be a good basis for forming a union. I'm quite tempted by the new (unannounced iPhone), but I'm not sure I can afford it (unless they discount them to £125). Unless this rumoured price drop to celebrate Apple Inc's 34th birthday is true, I might just have to stick with my old phone for a while longer. I think I might cut down on iTunes purchases to spite them. That'll learn em... Just because their phone is the shiniest in the division doesn't mean they can impose this unfair phone tax. crouchi Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 Clearly these must be poor decisions to create such a response. There are surely ways to balance the books and ensure the club is ready to meet the new UEFA rules, without causing such a furore. You can't treat your customers like Gerald Ratner did without paying a price for it. If you're going to rip us off, at least be more subtle about it. LostBoys Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 Astonishing post. The guy is a complete dic*hea* or trying to wind everyone up because he is bored. I suggest that he carries out a complete boycott of not just the club but hopefully this web site as well. By the way I have written privately to Mr Luker to ask that the club reinstate the instalment plan or provide some other third party credit arrangement to assist those fans that need it particularly those with families who wish to bring them to the games. I have suggested that this is what being a family club is all about. I propose that this is a better course of action than a feeble unsupported boycott.
