david in sweden Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Didn't he nearly score a hattrick against us @ St Mary's? Remember Kelvin making 3 wonder saves against him. maybe we would have been more impressed if he had scored a hat-trick !

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Author Posted 4 June, 2010 bit old but descibes him http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/dec/11/southend Yes please.

Bakovnetski Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 bit old but descibes him http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/dec/11/southend Southend? Did he play with Barnie in the team?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Author Posted 4 June, 2010 Southend? Did he play with Barnie in the team? According to Wikipedia: Barnard at Southend 25 January 2008 - 22 January 2010 Bailey at Southend 3 July 2007 - August 2008. So they overlapped by about 7 months.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Author Posted 4 June, 2010 A real nasty peice of work - exactly what we need! Indeed. Although thinking about it, If we were to lose Morgan, him and Hammond may not be the most creative partnership.
SuperSAINT Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Indeed. Although thinking about it' date=' If we were to lose Morgan, him and Hammond may not be the most creative partnership.[/quote'] Bailey can ping cross-field balls around with either foot. He's not just a ball winner.
Appy Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Bailey is very creative. Was at SMS the last 2 years anyway.
LostBoys Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 I think this would be a good signing. While I am sorry about Charltons precarious financial position and I am looking foward to the Antigallican and the usual maltreatment by the Met Police this coming season - if we can benefit - great!!
Smirking_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 I'd rather not sign him and have a ST payment plan in place. Infact i would like to sell Lambert etc to make this happen.
Bailey Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Got a great surname . . . Seriously though, I mentioned his name as a potential signing after his penalty miss for Charlton in the playoffs. He'd be a great addition to the squad, be delighted if we pulled this one off.
SaintRichmond Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Is it Bill Bailey? No, he won't go home apparently ..........
SNSUN Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Wowzers, that's a marquee signing should we get him. We have Pardew so that's a postive factor in bringing him to the club, but Norwich's league status may prove the difference. I'm not suggesting Norwich will struggle next season (I'd get a kick in the nuts from the missus if I suggest that), but perhaps a successful season with the League One's best team could persuade him to come - I'm doubtful though, as Charlton will be wanting to mount a promotion challenge of their own. Is there that much difference between us and Charlton at the moment? I'm not so sure...

Is there that much difference between us and Charlton at the moment? I'm not so sure... Norwich will not sign him.. they signed another midfield player today.. FACT further up the thread.. you will see my post.. I asked them... I'm not kidding Norwich pulled out as soon as Charlton told them the price.
moon monkey Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 We got Fonte who was in a league above us. We got the dosh to tease under their noses and gradually move them closer to the gates of st marys.
Joensuu Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 I'm doubtful though, as Charlton will be wanting to mount a promotion challenge of their own. Is there that much difference between us and Charlton at the moment? I'm not so sure... Spend some time on a Charlton forum. Their fans are resigned to selling players. They mutter about £30 million debts. Selling Bailey is mentioned as a way of potentially avoiding selling a handful of other players. Charlton seems to be where we were at the when we replaced Pearson with Poortvliet; depressed, resigned, shrouded in gloom (albeit Charlton aren't in the Championship). IMO the only way Charlton will mount a challenge this season is if the rest of the league all plays well below par.
djharvey Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 I'd rather not sign him and have a ST payment plan in place. Infact i would like to sell Lambert etc to make this happen. ROFL! oh stop it!
OVER THE HILL Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Bailey.... With that name I expect us to boo him whenever he plays, since his namesake got Osgood and Williams sent off years ago. Us old timers can't forget the other Bailey:mad:

Controversial, but I think he'd be a better signing than Stock.
Dark Munster Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Bailey can ping cross-field balls around with either foot. He's not just a ball winner. Me too. Trouble is, they usually end up in row z.
RonManager Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Me too. Trouble is, they usually end up in row z. That's pretty good accuracy if you can get the ball in the same row every time! Well done, sir.
Chez Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 (edited) Bailey can ping cross-field balls around with either foot. He's not just a ball winner. he's not a ball winner from what I have seen if him. He's a goalscoring midfielder that gets in the box a lot. Samedo is the ball winner in their side. Actually every time I've seen Bailey he has played out wide. Edited 4 June, 2010 by Chez

You sir are an ar*ehole! Stop being so politically correct, everyone hates gingers, even if they are good players. I dont want them on our pitch or any women in our stands. You did get one thing right though, calling me Sir.
Turkish Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 You really are making a loud statement about yourself here! Would you say the same if he was asian/chinese. Don't be such a Neanderthal! No i am all for indians and chinese players, we could sell crispy duck and chicken balti as half time snacks for the gutty ****ers amoungst us and they could help with the cooking before the game.

djharvey Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 no, but i'd happily roast you on a spit. I am not interested in your sexual preferences! I also hold nothing against you for being that way inclined!

Bally was brilliant for us,and I maintain "ginger".At a time when battling ginger midfielders were in vogue,Ball,Bremner etc.The trend continued with WGS as a player.

Draino76 Posted 5 June, 2010 Posted 5 June, 2010 Seriously, if we had a 'ginger' in our team, it may help us start to 'build bridges' with other ginger folk that we may encounter in our day to day lives.
