for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 According to SSN, both us and Norwich are trying to sign him. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_6190958,00.html
SO16_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Steady! we may be in for an exciting summer if this continues...
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 (edited) Excellent! Concerned that Norwich are competing to sign him from a higher division but if Markus waves enough bunce in his direction, and promises a proper crack at promotion, it might be enough to keep him in League 1. Edited 4 June, 2010 by Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Idiotic typing
Colinjb Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Stop, stop this positive reaction. We have 3 pound booking charges and lack of payment schemes to protest against. We must not endorse anything from the club until these VITAL issues are rectified. Now if you don't mind I have a video to market. My word Bailey would be an awesome signing.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Wow. Another steal from future ccc competitor. Better than Barnie?
Matthew Le God Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Bailey would be an excellent signing. Pardew signed him for Charlton which may help as he already knows him.
Prince Jazzbo Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Bailey.... With that name I expect us to boo him whenever he plays, since his namesake got Osgood and Williams sent off years ago.
SO16_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Bailey would be an excellent signing. Pardew signed him for Charlton which may help as he already knows him. that is a very good point that i hadn't thought about - this may have more legs than i first imagined
Matthew Le God Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Better than Barnie? Bailey is a central midfielder not a striker.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 June, 2010 Author Posted 4 June, 2010 Wow. Another steal from future ccc competitor. Better than Barnie? He's a central midfielder so not really comparable.
The Flying Finn Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Charlton use him as a left midfielder, not in the centre
S-Clarke Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 nice. show's the level of players we'll be looking at this summer.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Be great signing. Always the danger man when he plays against us. Would have scored a couple at St Marys if it wasnt for KD.
Colinjb Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 He is a ****. Much better to have on your side rather then against.
Katalinic Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 He is a ****. Something we've been lacking in the make up of the team for years.
Matthew Le God Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Pardew signed him for Charlton which may help as he already knows him. What will also help is Bailey is apparently good friends with Jason Puncheon.
GenevaSaint Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 The box to box midfielder that Pards said he's looking for?
Neilza Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 What will also help is Bailey is apparently good friends with Jason Puncheon. You're quick with your editing
Master Bates Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 I used to supply catering staff to a Nikki Bailey.
SuperSAINT Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Awesome signing if it happens. Probably the best midfielder in the division. (And could easily play in the CCC -Hopefully with us, not with Norwich)
martel Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Don't like the guy but would be a great signing. That's a shame Appy, he speaks well of you!
Appy Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 That's a shame Appy, he speaks well of you! Trust me i bet he thinks i'm a **** too
Chez Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 he did well in the championship, was happy to stay and try and get Charlton promoted, but surely if he is to leave Charlton it would only ever be to a CCC side? I'd be surprised if we could get him if there was genuine CCC interest, but who knows. Fonte dropped down a division so anything is possible.
patred44 Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Bailey's best football buddy is Jason Puncheon. Charlton need to raise £500k in the next two weeks to stave off Admin and we are the only club interested with that sort of money on the hip Pardew and Bailey have a good relationship, not only did he sign for Charlton, he also made him skipper. Baileys family want to remain in the south.. Bailey recognises we are going on an upward direction THERE'S 5 REASONS HE COULD SIGN US...

Colinjb Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 I thought we were trying to sign him, not him to sign us? I do hope you arn't a salesman.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 He's a central midfielder so not really comparable. Fair play...mixed him with someone else. Still, a pretty good acquisition it would seem.
Joensuu Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Interesting Charlton views on him here (especially page 2 onwards): http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=34906
Matthew Le God Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Norwich have signed two central midfielders in the last few days - Andrew Crofts and David Fox. Maybe they missed out on Bailey and went with other options?
L1Minus10 Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Excellent player, very dangerous going forward. Would be delighted if we signed him.
Genk Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Don't really rate him in all honesty. Didn't do much against us in the two games this season and I would much prefer a Neil Danns although unlikely. Somebody else please.
Chez Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Interesting Charlton views on him here (especially page 2 onwards): http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=34906 Quite a lot of mentions of Samedo. I picked him out two seasons ago as a very good defensive midfielder. He went off the boil the season before last, but returned to form last season. Ideal player for us. Just what we are missing.

Somebody else please. Didn't he nearly score a hattrick against us @ St Mary's? Remember Kelvin making 3 wonder saves against him.
patred44 Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 I asked someone local who would know if Norwich was interested in Bailey.. "Definately not, not at their asking price" "We got Fox from down the road instead" confirmation.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/8722503.stm

Somebody else please. the guy winning all the attacking headers at corners, nearly scoring several times, that was Bailey.
Chez Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Didn't he nearly score a hattrick against us @ St Mary's? Remember Kelvin making 3 wonder saves against him. He scored the third, but Shelvey and Racon (an absolute beauty) scored the others when we lost 2-3 in the last season in the CCC.
Joensuu Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Charlton concensus seems to be that he gives 100% workrate, and scores a fair few (although only 2 in 2010). They seem to think he hasn't dominated the midfield like they wanted him to, hense why he has been moved to the wing. His passing is frequently mentioned as a weakness. Value suggested around £400k, although one person suggested he'd be disappointed with less than £100k. Overall, most seem to rate him, but don't mind too much if he leaves.

In other words, not quite a midfield dynamo, but more then useful.

martel Posted 4 June, 2010 Posted 4 June, 2010 Trust me i bet he thinks i'm a **** too I did L.O.L. at that one Appy
