Dog Posted 3 June, 2010 Share Posted 3 June, 2010 Do you live in a house that has a name, if so what is it called and what is the meaning?
Ponty Posted 3 June, 2010 Share Posted 3 June, 2010 No. Most are just bad puns or state the bleedin' obvious.

You could always just remove the name, or change it to something different.

badgerx16 Posted 3 June, 2010 Share Posted 3 June, 2010 All the houses on our road have names, no numbers at all. If you look at the original 1936 building plans for our house, one of the 8 original houses on the road, the plots were named on the plans, and those are the names allocated to the houses. This hasn't, however, prevented the Post Office arbitrarily assigning numbers ten years ago, which plays havoc with shops' address databases; there is one commercial database in use which only has numbers, despite nobody on our road using them. This results in our house being #16, despite being the 4th house built !
Trader Posted 3 June, 2010 Share Posted 3 June, 2010 Crikey, not surprised. You could always just remove the name, or change it to something different. It is bad luck to change a house name. If you do you will probably all be murdered as you sleep. Don't do it.

Draino76 Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 I used to live in 'Pussy Palace' at uni; Not that there was buckets of pussy about. Of course there was a bit though. It was always a bit of a chuckle to get my bank statements and othe formal demands through to the Pussy Palace.
SNSUN Posted 4 June, 2010 Share Posted 4 June, 2010 I live in the White House. It's white. It's not a house though, it's a cottage, so really we're lying to the neighbours.
