OldNick Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 Prices are OK (nothing special), but the fees for on-line and phone booking will really p!$$ people off. Has put a bit of a slow puncture in my 'feel good' factor. i think if you read the fans charter that the club published last season, this could well be in dispute with that. saintwarwick Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 I think i,ve sussed it. 23 matches X £27 = £621 then the discounts quoted make sense. Poorly explained by club as it makes the incentive to renew by end of June not that attractive. Yes but it does say "Adults renewing their seats will pay between 32 and 35 per cent less than those buying a new one", I read it as buying a new season ticket and not individual tickets. It doesn't affect me but the wording and figures are not compatible

St. Jason Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 I'm truly gutted to say 'no' i will not be renewing my 2 season tickets. i have no real issue with the cost going up I just cannot afford to buy 2 NOW without the payment plan. If the club had warned us that after xx years of using the instalment plan that this was to be the last season I'd of saved, but to be told i have 30 days to find the full amount is not on, not in this current climate anyway!! Berkeley Saint Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 Do the individual match prices quoted already include the £3 extra ? The "on the day" prices quoted on the OS are £2 more than the advanced purchase tickets. It's a bit of a nonsence to quote say £27 as a "on the day" price (and then add £2 as a on the day premium / penalty). If the £3 is already included in the ticket price, then this is not so bad. (effectively the "ticket price" is reduced and there's an additional charge included) Otherwise, people who live out of the area are really being penalised..... This needs clarification I think .... Katalinic Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 I would suggest the poll is modified to read "Yes", "No", "Yes if a payment plan is introduced". Should give a better idea of the feeling of the fans.

Picked another point from the notice (apologies if already mentioned). Season tickets MUST be renewed by end of June to retain seat.

stevegrant Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 Can't say I've got any complaints over the prices themselves - with the VAT rate reverting to 17.5%, and the club having to price the tickets in such a way as to get loads sold at short notice last summer, an increase of only £30 on a renewal is fair enough, IMO. Even the matchday prices themselves are ok - if bought in advance, the actual ticket price is £2 less than last year (it was £24 for the Northam last season, then £26 on the day from January), but then they've thrown in the £3 booking fee for online and phone sales to throw it all out of sync. The hilarious irony is that it will now work out cheaper for people to buy match-by-match tickets on the day of the game by queueing up at the ticket office (£24) than to book on the phone or online (£22 + £3 = £25). Good work, whoever came up with that idea to reduce the queues at the ticket office on matchdays

Renew now, then go on holiday later in the year. Overall you'll spend no more than you would have done with the installments --just the other way round to previous years. This has been really badly handled by the club. No excuse for such short notice. Still no actual formal announcment about the apparent decision not to move the way fans ..which would have affected whether I renewed in same seats or moved. K. I don't think anyone minds an increase, I don't expect Markus to shoulder the cost himself but for the life of me I cannot see the logic of the £3 fee or the instant removal of the installment plan... If the club had said in January they would remove the installment plan option then fine, people could have put money aside but to just state you have until the end of June and then if you haven't renewed by August 6th you can't have a season ticket, is just madness! It's been said that the club has had defaulters on installment plans and that's why the option has been removed. Then get bar coded season ticket cards, no scan, no watch. To punish a whole load of existing season ticket holders is just not on...

Most have frozen their ticket prices. OOO ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have a look at the Blackburn Rovers website - dirt-cheap season tickets, plus an instalment plan! Ok, it's to watch c*ap football by the home team, but you get to see other quality Prem sides when they come to town. I know the area is mill-workers so priced for the area, but even so .... they're paying like 200 quid a season with an instalment plan for a PREMIERSHIP ticket, where we're being asked for 350 quid for League 1 football, no instalment plan. This is going to stretch many fans to breaking point, and beyond, in some cases. Edited 1 June, 2010 by the saint in winchester

Tom28 Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 I dont understand this match day ticket thing; As i understand it, if you buy your tickets before match day, tickets are £22 (wing), but if you phone up to book as the majority will, you pay a £3 booking fee. ie. the ticket is £25. However, if you rock up on the day, the ticket prices are £24. Wouldn't they want to get advance numbers rather than match day walk ups to help with steward and police planning? This pricing system means that those buying tickets for each match they attend, are more likely to buy on game day. Have I understood that incorrectly? Katalinic Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 well something has to pay for new training ground and massive league 1 spending I don't think many people mind that - last year's prices were arguably artificially low in order to get as many in as possible. This season should be pretty exciting so an increase seems fair to pay for the points you mention. The issue is the instalment plan or lack of it - I can't understand why the club would make such a crass decision that immediately precludes a significant number of season ticket holders from renewing - short sighted at best. Nexstar Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 The increase in ticket price due to VAT or whatever i can just about deal with but no instalment plan is stupid and what I find most ridiculous of all.... A £3 booking fee for ONLINE transactions?! The idea of doing things online is that a staff member does not have to be at the other end to sort it out, a booking fee for phone transactions would encourage more people to go to the website, but with this cost and the fact that the online service is utterly useless the club may as well scrap it. Maybe someone can explain why this year I now have to pay £543 for me and my 9 year old son where as last year it was £350. Also each week I take a different friend of my son's to try and spread the word of Saints to all his Chelsea supporting mates. According to that price structure it will cost me £19 a game on top of my season tickets to buy an extra ticket for an 8/9 year old.
