i used to own some as a young lad (16) lasted forever and quite comfy but would never wear them now

Used to have a pair of Loafers, in my teenage years, complete with golf shoe style tassles. They had massive leather soles and crunched on the pavement and gravel with a pleasing sound.

 

Didn't we call them beetle crushers too..?
