Dyer to Sheffield United

I think it's clear now - Lowe must be trying to destroy us or get us relegated.

Hey....leave the conspiracies to us seasoned pros.....:)

Interesting train of thought mind you....perhaps this is indeed the beginning of the 'warning signs' that Lowe & Co have thrown in the towel on the battle to avoid administration and, as you say, have switched the master plan to 'self implode' mode in order to get us to administration quicker than next February, thus avoiding docked points at the start of NEXT season.

Works for me....

In that case Robertson will be the answer. Hopefully like Gasmi and Pulis for our mid-field.

Not moaning though it is just an observation as I don't know the detailof what we owe sheff for lucketti or Stoke for Pulis/Davies deal or the French

gor Gasmi/Spiderman.

So Robertson will be a big lump and score goals?

Wouldn't think he's particularly lumpy but probably more of a presence in the box than either McGoldrick or Pekhart. Against Blackpool we put in some good crosses (from Holmes!!) that were just crying out for someone to muscle in at the near post and bury them. Never seen such a lot of wasted ball. McGoldgrick is like Cantona, seems to be a wanting to do the "beautiful thing" all the time. No place for artists in the penalty box in the CCC.

I think we'll be in administration before XMAS and I've heard possibly even before the end of November. The Askham era of politics and infighting is going to collapse soon and let's hope that the FL don't hit us with further penalties. I also hope that we have a strong administrator that will ensure that another Secure Retirement shower doesn't get to buy what is left.

Agreed from the first-half crosses from Holmes, if JP had started John we'd have scored at least 1. Pekhart has already scored though and his pedigree is terrific. Perhaps JP's system is at fault here as much as the personnel?

We are crying out for Ron Davies and thank the Lord he is almost recovered from his operation and will be available if nice Mr Wilde brings over from the states.

By the way who is this Dyer lad anyway.

The best at putting it in the net was George Kirby....If not the ball someone or something would land in the net.

I bet we won't and I'd bet it isn't.

There is no conceivable reason as to why we should suddenly subside into administration. If we were going we'd have gone last summer. Have to wait

for the next "administration window" now.

Spot the contradiction here... we have no wingers then loan out one of the only ones we have.

Why not just tell the truth its wages pure and simple. We could put 5 strikers in the middle but unless we have someone who gives us width and can cross it whats the point?

Moan bloody moan thats all this club is driving us to and thanks for forums like this that allows us to vent our spleen.

We need experience and defenders not what we have loads of already. 3 goals in 15 games is not a goalscorer no matter how much you dress it up.

"Name: Jordan Robertson

Nationality: English

Date of Birth: 12/02/1988

Height:6' 0" (183cm)

Weight:12st 6lbs (78.99kg)

Previous Clubs:Dundee United (loan), Oldham (loan), Northampton (loan), Torquay United (loan)

Position: Striker

A number of loan spells over the past couple of campaigns has boosted Jordan's profile.

He has spent time with Torquay United, Northampton Town, Oldham Athletic and Dundee United, for whom he scored three times in 12 starts for the Scottish Premier League last season.

A tall striker, he has been a goalscorer throughout his teenage years and is another of the highly-thought of Blades' youngsters.

In the 2005/06 season, he was the youth team's leading marksman and, as an 18-year-old, netted a hat-trick for United's reserves at Nottingham Forest."

If this means we can afford to play Skacel, then it's a moment of inspiration in the nick of time.

If this is just another chance to save some money, then Lowe is clearly getting more retarded by the day. Dyer may not be our best player, but the squad is hardly overflowing with tallent as things stand.

Dyer signed a contract for us otherwise he would of gone for nothing..or very little at that time. If he is a success at Sheff Utd then we may get something for him whereas we wouldn't of before.

I have no problem really with Dyer off as long as the replacement is what we need and for the life of me cannot see we need a striker more than a defender with Thomas out for the season and Svennson struggling and everyone realising we need more experience in the team.

I LOL'ed at this; there hasn't been much on here to enjoy recently but I enjoyed that one.

Worthy of it's own thread surely?

'10 reasons why David McGoldrick is like Eric Cantona'.

I'll go first;

1. They both have heads.

I think DMG mentioned something about a group of seaguls after the Rotherham match. It was right after he kung-fu kicked that fan.

I am confused Jan said we have lots of players in his position yet I don't see any. BWP and McGoldrick are not right wingers. When do either ever get to the byeline?

Hang on maybe he is talking about left wing as the idot has been playing him out there hasn't he.

Jan is clueless IMO. He changes the side every single game no matter what. Players (apart from James) are not being given enough time to find their feet and he is swapping the side about every two minutes.

Stern is now the best thing since slice bread following similar praise for Pekhart, BWP and McGoldrick. We've only played 7 league games and already 4 strikers have been the blue eyed boy. And now we sign another one. Why not get a ****ing CM in as without Gillett we have **** all there.

If this move means we can utilise Skacel, then i'm all for it.

This is of course dependant that Skacel is in the right frame of mind to participate, poor thing.

Skacel is working on his fitness in training, he needs more games in the reserves-must be true ,Jan said so on the OS.

How did he get unfit, must have been in pretty good nick for the Euro, it's only a couple of months ago.Perhaps Hammill left a few pies hanging about.

Would tie in with the Lowe response at our fight back (and subsequent goal against Sheffield Utd.) during the final day of the season at St Mary’s….”Lucky b*stards!”

Ruin the master plan did it? Secure retirement or Tom Scott’s under-pant emporium as a cheap takeover vehicle for holding company?!

Can see it now – 'Rupert’s hands lay in Tom’s pants!!'

Strange his signed a new contract then didn't look interested. Same with McGoldrick. Both clearly ****s anyway.

Maybe optimistic, but if getting Dyer out means we can afford to play Rudi, then brilliant, but I doubt it will.

Still, if 20,000 fans turned up then we could ask why Rudi isn't being played given the extra gate receipts.

We only gave them new contracts to stop them going for free!

On the surface this appears madness but I fear this is what happens when finances totally dictate things.

It was plain to see that at the end of last season that Dyer's time here was at an end , he hasn't progressed in a couple of seasons and obviosuly fancied a move and with this and the court case stuff it was obvious the club wanted rid of him.

He was out of contract in the Summer and all that needed to happen was a mug team like PFC come along and take him and pay us some much needed cash in compensation.

Only it didn't happen and no one came in for him.

So we could either let his contract lapse and then when he did find a new club we would get f'k all

or.... we could offer him a new contract because we knew we would probably accept as there was nothing else on the table and we knew that by offering him a new deal we would flog him later for the much needed cash.

I've no doubt that Lowe and Jan were thinking it's a no lose deal. If he does well then we get a good player and if not we should be able to get more in a transfer fee for him than we had paid out to the lad in wages.

It's obvious that so far this season Dyer has done nothing to show he has any interest of playing for us so he has been shipped out on loan. Sheff Utd will pick up his wages and there's no doubt at all that if he does well there then the deal will be made permanent in January.

Sadly for us it's all about the bottom line at the minute and the bottom line with Dyer is that we will make more money from him by offering him the new deal paying a month's wages to him, sending him out on loan and then selling him in the window than if we just let him walk away for nowt in the Summer...

I thought Dyer signed his new contract almost exclusively because he was overwhelmed by the 'revolutionary new coaching structure' (according to the OS). He didn't remain impressed for long it would seem.

Can't say that we will miss him on matchday, though, on the evidence so far this season. Those that rated him above Theo a few years back must be feeling a little let down now.
