Dyer to Sheffield United

Recommended Posts

I've read thread after thread on here of people criticising Dyer for his poor play and worse attitude. Yet now we're apparently thinking of loaning him out this is a bad thing?

Yes, a bad thing.

How about, just for once, the manager grabbing a player by the throat and f**king man-managing.

FFS, footballers nowadays can throw a strop and force a transfer out. It wasnt all that long a go that the manager would take them out back and kick the crap out of them.

Look at the way Fergie has stood up to Ronaldo, and chucked Beckahm out..

Honestly, he has been poor for us this season and if going out on loan either makes him a better player when he comes back or gets his wages off our books then I'm all for it. It could allow us to get a more useful player in on loan to strengthen the defence or provide another attacking option.

We gave him a new contract so that either he shaped up and played as well for us as he's shown he's capable of or so that we could get a fee for him when he moves on. This is not difficult to understand.

Shhh talking sence on this board is banned. ;)

Fergie didn't stand up to Ronaldo, the money men in charge did. As for Beckham being chucked out, he wasn't wanted by Fergie but still left on his own terms for the team he decided to play for and started his "Brand Beckham" multi million pound industry. Well done Fergie, that showed him!!

Radio Solent reports Dyer off to Sheffield United on loan

At last something to cheer us up. If he ever plays for us again I simply wont go. His performance as a sub on Tuesday - who you would think was trying to impress - was the worst case of not trying ever seen in a Saints shirt. He is a total disgrace.

I tell you, he got an absolutely crap deal in the summer because no-one else wanted him.He was probably on 3K a week maximum. No way would Lowe have given him anything better.

OK so next question

We play one up front

We have Peckhart, SJ, DMG, BWP & Lallana all able to play there

But we've signed a forward

Why?

The end of the loan window is approaching, the doors will revolve

I think we signed a striker because we create chances but dont convert them.

Sounds crazy dont it. ffs.

Because we are having difficulty scoring goals??

Not saying the new guy (who's not ever had a start in the CCC) is the solution but it is our one big failing. We do every thing right but can't just hit the old pig's bladder route 1 into the onion bag.oing back to the ill fated Blackpool game, the 2 chances Lallana got, any Hampshire League centre forward of old would have buried them in the corner 98 times out of 100, instinct would make them do it.Lallana is a constructive attacking player but he is not a Jimmy Greaves/Gerd Muller/J-P Papin/Smudger Smith type goal machine.

I think this is a bit of a weird one. Did anyone really see this coming?

I guess Dyer's attitude isn't good enough and by signing a new deal in the summer it just guarantees us a fee when he does move on.

Maybe a move is best suited for both parties and it will be interesting to see how this Robertson lad does.

Good news getting Dyer out of the picture. His inclusion has only led to better players not getting to play.

I'm sure it's all to do with the pay off to Sheffield United for the loan of Lucci Luk at the end of last season. Makes cents! Good on your Rupert

We didn't need a striker, it's mad. We need a Right back.

Plus a left back plus a great big hairy arsed lump who will kick the ****e out of anyone who comes near our defence and kids.

It works for 90% of the teams in this league yet we continue with shorties against giants and why we concede or nearly do from every set piece.

Its a stupid move dyer has done ok this season we should of started him instead of that white who gave that pen away vs blackpool and when dyer came on at QPR he looked very good aldo holmes is better but with him injured its stupid.

Also BWP and Mcgoldrick are crap on the wingers there strikers play them there we have to play rudi this weekend if theres no dyer and holmes otherwise we wont get a result at doncaster because with are style of play we need good wingers and i can see that if rudi dont play bwp or mcgoldrick will end up there.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

When I started reading this thread, I agreed with one of the early posters. That if loaning Dyer out meant we were able to play Skacel, I would say this was a good bit of business. If we could have added a recognised full-back in on the deal, and still played Skacel, even better still.

But now, I'm not so certain that this will be the case and we will have another striker that doesn't receive the ball in the box because we're so happy playing outside of the box.

Just to re-itereate what I've said before though, McG would be a good striker for us, if he played the strikers role and stop coming so deep. He has decent presence and decent ability and control and shooting from 8 yards out and scoring is far easier than running 20 yards with the ball and then firing a shot from 25 yards out. McG, get in the bl**dy box!

Pekhart and particularly Patterson must wonder what the .. is this about.

Agreed and I also agree with Dubai Phil and others that have made the same point. Portabog only plays 1-up so WTF did we take Pekhart as well as this lad that couldn't even get a game at Sheff Utd last season when Sheff Utd couldn't buy a goal and Beattie was injured up there. Another decision that doesn't make any sense. I'm no great fan of Dyer but couldn't we have exchanged him for someone useful like a full-back? FFS Saints, I don't think the club - regardless of whether it's been Lowe, Crouch, Wilde or the cleaner - has made a sensible or coherent decision for 4 years, from Sturrock, Wigley to present day. Crouch was equally rudderless and his appointment of Dudd summed it up - I mean, how many clubs make the same mistake on appointing caretakers 3 times in a decade?

Whatever Burley was drinking, I think he left some behind in the dug out in his haste to take the Scots job and JP has been swigging from it - his decisions tactically and in signings are every bit as bad as George's although Burley to be fair did **** most of the parachute money up the wall.

More to the point - why do SU want a player that can't get in our team???

He's quick I guess and Blackwell is more into developing players than Saints are at the moment. Dyer hasn't got much brain but he could be improved and at least has played some games @ CCC level unlike this other lad. So we've now got competing for 1 striker spot:

- McG, Pekhart, John, BWP, this new lad, Lallana, White

I've not even included Saga or Rasiak as they are on loan. Add this to the surplus of midfielders and shortage of defenders and doesn't it remind you of last year? What was the point of Wilde and Rupert coming back again, can their friends on this board remind us? I'm not a Crouch fan but he already had the cutbacks planned. He may not have fared any better but he wouldn't have fared any worse!

The fans certainly are OSM. We've now got a huge surplus of - Lallana and Davis apart -average (being generous) players, albeit younger, just like we had in 04/05 and we all know what happened. Is this lad going to be better than Patterson? Doubt it. What's the point of signing other club's youngsters and blocking our own? Is this Rupert's way of admitting our lads aren't cutting it at CCC level? Or are they not being given the chance because the "strategy" isn't being followed by the board?

WTF!!

I think dyer's sh|t but this is just getting ridiculous now. WWhy on earth do we need to sign some complete nobody striker on loan and ship out one of our only wide players??!!

I've actually come to realise this morning i am beyond caring about this club any more, its a sad situation but I cannot be bothered with the inept management from top to bottom, we need some experience FFS not some 20 yr old kid whos barely played before.

I'll be back next season in league 1 where at least we can hopefully be competitive.

what a ****ing joke our club has become

Perhaps we have some of the lengthy list above going out the door on loan too? It'd be good thing money-wise if we could lose Stern and BWP's wages for a while and not hurt too much on the playing side, particularly BWP

I just wonder who on earth has said "yeah, we'll have that Jordan Robertson on loan from Sheff Utd".

Who has made the decision to bring him in i'd be interested to know. I can't imagine whoever did, has ever seen him play.

What an absolute joke.

But perhaps them taking Dyer was totally dependant and irreconcilably tied to us taking this young man on loan as well. I mean no doubt we didn't really want Pulis either but it was probably take it or leave it on the Davies deal. Whatever we had to do to get rid of Dyer is OK by me.Bad influence, bad attitude.

It's about 82 kgs hitting on defences.

Pekhart is a bean pole, haven't much idea about Paterson;

In that case Robertson will be the answer. Hopefully like Gasmi and Pulis for our mid-field.

Not moaning though it is just an observation as I don't know the detailof what we owe sheff for lucketti or Stoke for Pulis/Davies deal or the French

gor Gasmi/Spiderman.

So Robertson will be a big lump and score goals?

You've probably read the board's mind Foxy, two problems assuming that you are right though:

1) Stern is the only player in the squad with a proven CCC goal record

2) Who is going to want BWP? I'm talking at full-time, professional level. Not even Bournemouth would and they are even more up sh-t creek than we are!

Lowe did some hard bargaining when other clubs were skint - ie Derby circa 2002/3 and let's face it we all, me included, approved. Now the tables have turned and clubs know Barclays run the show.
