chrisobee Posted 26 May, 2010 Share Posted 26 May, 2010 Not as easy as you might think. I've been wracking my brains and am still short of quite a few.. Forwards: J Jordan, Paterson Midfield: Mcann, Quashie, McCalliog Defence: err... Telfer Keeper: Martin Perhaps somebody else might fill in the blanks for me. No, it wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be though being able from memory to go back 40+ years helped ! The team I came up with was : Martin ( though could have had Campbell Forsyth or Dave McClaren, an easy position to fill) Telfer Steele Gabriel Burns ( Francis) Fisher McCalliog O'Brien( Gerry) Quashie Speedie Jordan Couldn't actually remember if Ted MacDougall was Scottish or not, as he is I'd have him in way ahead of Speedie who was poor for us. chrisobee Posted 26 May, 2010 Share Posted 26 May, 2010 Unable to get a reasonable Irish or Welsh team I thought But maybe a Scandinavian one would be good Mick Earls was Irish, a defender from the mid 70's but I'm struggling to think of any other Irish/Welsh players who haven't been mentioned. Has Jeff Kenna been mentioned? I'm thinking a Scandanavian team would be easier so... Niemi Ostlund Svennson (M) Lundekvam Jakobsson Svennson (A) Tessem Nilsson Soltvedt Ostenstad Ekelund It was actually harder than I thought, the only other one I came up with was another striker in Stig Johansen. Lets B Avenue Posted 26 May, 2010 Share Posted 26 May, 2010 Yes. the BTC Ground. I thought the Saints A reference would have given it away. I saw Channon, Stokes, Holmes, Mills, Williams, Moran and various Wallaces' get their start there. Danny Wallace made his debut at Old Stretford the week after he had run rings round some squarehead right-back of Pompey R.N. when they announced the team changes at O.T. we all looked at each other and went :smt102. when the team ran out I said " He's 16 and was only here to carry the kit bag." rather giving away the fact that we were Saints fans in the United Rd paddock. :smt021
