Problem is this rocket greyhound question is too vague to google... hense we are all now stuck...

Any chance of a clue?

It,s my last post for today so cannot respond further until tomorrow. A clue is they both played for Saints about the same time, late 70,s - early 80,s.

Then The first right answer will count towards the points total.

Any takers for the next Q?

A 3 parter question.....you have to get all 3 correct to get the question right and win the chance of asking your own question:

(a) What year did Saints last win the FA cup?

(b) Who were their opposition on the day?

© Who scored the winning goal for Saints? (clue: his Grandson plays for Hibs at the moment)

That's a very strenuous Saints link don't you think? Anyway, it's not your turn to ask the question yet.

Apologies for answering a question with a question. He only missed one in league and cup action, so I assumed the correct answer was something tenuous.

Thats t e n u o u s.

I maintain my belief that strenuous (that's s t r e n o u s ) be a more fitting word. I strained.

Where did Saints do their pre-season training from 67-73? McMenemy changed it after he became Manager.

Right here's mine.

Terry Paine had a business venture in the town whilst he played for us. What was it and where was it?

Fruit and Veg shop. Howards Rd, Foyes Corner. Well done Ron, for gettig La Ling. He looked brilliant that night he played for us.

I must come clean on the La Ling ting - I looked it up in Duncan's book. my Saints history knowledge is good but not that good!!

The next question now I have joined this thread is is there actually a question awaiting an answer :smt102

Anyway, regardless the next question is can anyone compile a Saints team consisting only of Scottish player ? Pretty easy I suggest.

Trick question?

I always thought MLT scored 48 out of the 49 penalties he took.

Oh now there is a question ! It was the Notts Forest goalkeeper whose name I'm trying hard to remember..............Mark Crossley.

Edit Which has already been answered, a bl**dy simple thread made very difficult smiley-confused002.gif

The answer to the only person to save a MLT penalty other than Crossley is......

Steve Bull!

I was working with his sister last week and MLT told him that he is the only other person which happened in a penalty shootout at half time.

Who's Steve Bull you might ask?

He was the celebrity fat bloke who used to swing his belly in front of the camera's, he was given a free season ticket by the club.

He has taken a step back now after he got beaten up by some other teams supporters and was also threatened by fellow saints fans too.

I would have assumed it was the ex Wolves centre forward you were talking about !

He did have to sit right at the bottom of the Northam, as he truly was too large to get even a few steps up. He also took up 2 Seats, which I think is why he would obtain a "Free" ST each year as he would pay for the other one.

This is my first year of being a STH and was suprised to see Steve stood only a few rows down from me on a number of occasions this year. Has lost alot of weight, but still on the large side. The last time I saw him there was ages ago... Stockport I think and they were giving him some right stick across the barrier.

Off topic I know... my bad.

Which defender scored the only goal Saints in the cup match vs Oxford in the mid 90's? If your really clever(sad) describe it?

Richard Dryden. He received the ball 35 yards from goal, cut inside and curled a shot from 20 yards into the top left corner.

(Actually I remembered it was Dryden, Wiki had the description of the goal!)

Q: Besides letting in seven goals vs Everton, what ended Chris Woods stint at The Dell?
