chrisobee Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 And the next question is....... How many Saints players past and present had/have Christian names beginning with "A" Serious question coming soon.
chrisobee Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 Ok, a fairly easy one. Which Saints players have represented England at full International level whilst playing for the club. As you would expect it is well into double figures and many are easy.
REDARMY79 Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 Channon, Shilton, Wright, Le Tissier, Shearer, Watson, Beattie, Mills, Chivers, Paine

Since the war - I reckon Ellerington, Ramsey, Paine, Channon, Williams, Watson, Keegan, Danny Wallace, Armstrong, Wright, Shilton, MLT, Flowers, Shearer, Bridge & Crouch
sidthesquid Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 And Beattie. Dopn't think Chivers played for England until long after he left us.
Andy_Porter Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 Beattie - never mind I see he's been mentined further up
chrisobee Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 Channon, Shilton, Wright, Le Tissier, Shearer, Watson, Beattie, Mills, Chivers, Paine Channon Of course Shilton Yes Wright Yes Le Tissier Definitely Shearer Yes, just one cap whilst at Saints I think Watson Yes Beattie Yes Mills Think his England career ended just as he joined Saints as Bobby Robson released him from Ipswich and then took over as England manager. Not 100% certain. Chivers No, only played for England after leaving Saints Paine Indeed
chrisobee Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 And Beattie. Dopn't think Chivers played for England until long after he left us. Yep, correct about Chivers as I have just posted.
REDARMY79 Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 Bridge, Rawlings,Steve Williams, Wallace. That sir is me done!

Saints Mad Si Posted 29 May, 2010 Posted 29 May, 2010 All correct apart from Flowers I believe who only played for England just after leaving Saints for Liverpool. Or leaving to go to Blackburn! ;-)
