Saint_clark Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 How you can like someone with boots that colour is beyond me:o A couple of nice goals and a few tap ins but mostly unproductive is what I've seen. You've obviously seen more, I hope you're right. So you don't like him because of his boot colour, and yet admit that he scores goals?
Thedelldays Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 I would take barnard....as if rickie got injured, barnard would more likely produce 25+ goals over a season that an old ormerod
SNSUN Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 It is rather like David Armstrong who Lawrie suggested might have been noticed and played for England years before he made it,if he had an earring. or hair? :smt103
Andy_Porter Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 I'm a bit anti - Barnard. It's probably the colour of his boots. He does run about a lot but why does he fall over every time the ball comes to him? any way Ormerod was better so was Saga probably. I'm not his biggest fan either. Would much rather see Connolly alongsider Lambert or hopefully 4-5-1 next season, Barnard is a decent option from the bench IMO but nothing more. Laughable that anyone thinks Barnard is better now than Omerod was for us at the same age, some short memories.
Tom & Gerry Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 So you don't like him because of his boot colour, and yet admit that he scores goals? He's going to have to score a whole lot more to win me round. If he does that - score 25 goals plus for us next season he can wear carpet slippers for all I care:)
Saint Fan CaM Posted 26 May, 2010 Author Posted 26 May, 2010 The answer to the OP is Ormerod. Care to illuminate us on why you might think this???

Singeon Sears Posted 26 May, 2010 Posted 26 May, 2010 Ormerod is a better player than Barnard - He's scored against premiership defences and operates in the premiership/championship level. Barnard operates in league one and looks like a good league one striker. It's hard to tell if he'd be any good in a higher league. Taking into account age, i'd probably stick with Barnard though!
Tom & Gerry Posted 26 May, 2010 Posted 26 May, 2010 You know he scored 24 goals last season don't you? I'm not bothered about the goals he's scored for anyone else but I will admit 9 for us is not bad for a player I consider to have been struggling and lacking in confidence in front of goal at times. I don't think I'm alone in thinking this otherwise Pardew would have picked him every week. Maybe he's a bit like Beattie in that he doesn't look like he'll ever score again for weeks then hits a purple patch when he's more confident, I can live with that. If he lacks confidence because he's become overawed by the better quality players with much better touch that he's now playing with then we've got a problem. We'll see.
a1ex2001 Posted 26 May, 2010 Posted 26 May, 2010 i'd choose Brett in his prime, he did well for us in the prem and had a brilliant record at our current level for blackpool, sadly he's getting on a bit now and is definately out of our reach!
