Toomer Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Bought a copy today and surprise surprise, there is a mistake on page 26 middle picture, back row they have got Jimmy Gabriel down as Frank Saul, Frank is 2nd from right back row, well down Echo.
hypochondriac Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 I'm not sure I can face purchasing a season ticket for next year now. I was all set to buy one but after this... I'm not so sure.
hypochondriac Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 This has just brought back terrible memories of the time the OS displayed a banner which was not correctly linked. I think I need to leave the house for a while. I just need some fresh air. Am finding it difficult.

I think I need to leave the house for a while. I just need some fresh air. Am finding it difficult. Oh fine. You just had to go and dig that up again. I wasn't over it but the days were just starting to become more bearable. Thanks Thanks a lot. Where's my old trusty service revolver?
hypochondriac Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Just got off the phone with Jimmy (big Gabe as he is also known.) Fuming does not begin to describe his reaction. His voice was shaking when I informed him about this. Cheers Echo, you've probably hastened his entry to the grave. D*ckheads.
RonManager Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Someone's trying to talk Frank Saul down off a tall building somewhere, apparently.
hypochondriac Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Someone's trying to talk Frank Saul down off a tall building somewhere, apparently. I believe Frank's exact words were "how could they confuse me with that fat b*stard." I'm not sure they got on too well and I have a suspicion that sh*t could very well go down over this. If these two end up dead or horribly maimed then we all know who is to blame. The Echo have blood on their hands.
Micky Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Bought a copy today and surprise surprise, there is a mistake on page 26 middle picture, back row they have got Jimmy Gabriel down as Frank Saul, Frank is 2nd from right back row, well down Echo. Just read this thread today and surprise surprise, there is a mistake on the second line penultimate word, the OP has typed 'down' instead of 'done', ruined my day FFS. One and a half bloody lines and he couldn't get it right, well done OP...!
Badger Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Radio Gloucestershire news say Jim Steele will not be opening his pub in Moreton in the Marsh tomorrow in protest.
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Shock Horror, as I read Jimmy Gabriel this song popped into my head:

Badger Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 re arrange ' for new torn hole toomer arse' Don't share a facebook page with a certain Huddersfield fan by chance?
Saint in Paradise Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 OMG they actually name Frank twice in that picture, I demand that the Echo pay for a business class ticket to come back to the UK so I can be given a corrected re-print.
70's Mike Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 Disappointed in whole book, pictorial history it said then pages about the JPT, WAS EXPECTING older pictures
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 This book is riddled with errors, a very slapdash publication which could have been 100 times better if they had spent more than an afternoon cobbling it together. I think we found 8 errors on the first page. We have written and complained to the Echo
Doctoroncall Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 How much was it and how many pages do you get for it?
Wiltshire Saint Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 Disappointed in whole book' date=' pictorial history it said then pages about the JPT, WAS EXPECTING older pictures[/quote'] Why didn't you look inside the book before you got it? This book is riddled with errors, a very slapdash publication which could have been 100 times better if they had spent more than an afternoon cobbling it together. I think we found 8 errors on the first page. We have written and complained to the Echo I thought we found 9? I enjoyed writing that letter with you, look forward to their response.
Draino76 Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 Maybe they have been labelled correctly and we have got it wrong all these years?
SNSUN Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 I've just shot myself and am passing over. They have SWF in Purgatory? I no longer fear dying.

Wiltshire Saint Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 never bought it just looked at it in the shop' date=' thought it was a waste of money[/quote'] Well stop bloody moaning about it then. FFS, you haven't bought it or wasted any money.....find something else to moan about rather than books you don't own.
scotty Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 Well stop bloody moaning about it then. FFS, you haven't bought it or wasted any money.....find something else to moan about rather than books you don't own. he wasted his time, and time is money. The Echo have a lot to answer for
Deano6 Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 Well stop bloody moaning about it then. FFS, you haven't bought it or wasted any money.....find something else to moan about rather than books you don't own. I've been reading this board for a while now and have been noticing your posts. Aren't you that guy who drinks on his own in the corner of the Plume wanting to start fights? I also remember that you're a midget who got very angry with the staff in the Saints Store a while ago. I think you're the one who needs to calm it down mate, LOL. Especially as you took the time to sit down with FF and actually write to the Echo about the 8, no sorry 9, mistakes that you found

Under normal circumstances one might be forgiven for thinking that Wiltshire Saint was some sort of joker but I've actually seen him in the Plume muttering to himself about "stupid ******* posters" etc... Unbelievable!
SO16_Saint Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 i know for a fact that this was put together by work experience kids. not withstanding that, it should have been edited correctly though.
Jeff Le Taxi Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 Am i the only one who actually thought it was pretty good?
Dimond Geezer Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 My 9 year old son bought me this last week. He saw it in the newsagents and said to Mrs. Geezer, that he should buy it for me because I'm "building our house". I was quite touched when he said that to me and thought it was a lovely gesture. :goodman: Now I'm bitterly disappointed that the selfish little scrote didn't check through it first, buying me something that is factually incorrect. :axe: Is that all I mean to him? I’ll get the little b******, I’ll brick-up the doorway to his bedroom when he sleeps tonight. Am i the only one who actually thought it was pretty good? No Jeff, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I'll get over the disappointment of Frank Saul & Jimmy Gabrialbeing muddled. There are some great photos in their. As long as it's not used as in 'A'-level sports studies as a definitive history of SFC, it's fine.
