RonManager Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 come on cardiff..would love them to win this one what a remarkable job jones has done this year
chrisobee Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 I hope the 100's of fans I saw this morning actually realised the game was at Wembley and not Watford ! Took me a while to figure out why so many people were wearing orange shirts.
chrisobee Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 come on cardiff..would love them to win this one what a remarkable job jones has done this year Provocative
RonManager Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Provocative Well someone's got to counter the shy, retiring, non-controversial, anything for a quiet life TDD.
chrisobee Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Well someone's got to counter the shy, retiring, non-controversial, anything for a quiet life TDD. Well there are plenty on here capable of doing that, I'll leave TDD to them. He frightens me
Badger Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Although I would not begrudge Dave Jones a return to the Premiership, the same can't be said about their supporters getting there. Not a particular fan of Holloway but yes, good job this year, and hope Blackpool go up. Either of them are likely to do a 'Burnley' though.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Well there are plenty on here capable of doing that, I'll leave TDD to them. He frightens me He's 3 foot 6 tall and built like a blade of grass.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Decent Veetle stream if anybody needs it: http://www.veetle.com/v/4bedc45db3caa
bridge too far Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Mixed emotions, me. Cardiff because I like Dave Jones Blackpool because dear old Brett plays for them. Cardiff go 1 up
bridge too far Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Bloody hell  Brilliant free kick equalizer for Blackpool!
ohwhenthesaints Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Fantastic freekick. Not sure about the goalkeeper's positioning though!
Huntingdon Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 My missus is from Preston Needless to say, she dying for a Cardiff win
John B Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Three ex Saints in Blackpool Squad Ormerod Crainey Euell
benjii Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 What a game! Hope Blackpool win: they are much better than Cardiff and Cardiff in the Prem would be disgusting.
SuperMikey Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 This is the best game of football i've seen in years, it's absolutely amazing! Really hope Blackpool win now, they've just not stopped trying all game. Having said that, they'll be straight back down next season, Cardiff have a much better squad. 41c on the pitch as well!
Thedelldays Posted 22 May, 2010 Author Posted 22 May, 2010 blackpool promoted...superb..great job by holloway...he is a very good manager was one of my wishes for saints last summer
JackFrost Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Bad result for Cardiff, their in big financial trouble now
Thedelldays Posted 22 May, 2010 Author Posted 22 May, 2010 Bad result for Cardiff, their in big financial trouble now dunno..their new owners were there today
sotonswan Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Happy for Blackpool. They deserved their play-off place and they deserve their promotion. Well done Holloway.
SuperMikey Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Olly's Tangerine Army! Will be great to see Man Utd and Chelsea struggle on that surface next season, it was awful whenever we played them in the CCC.
Jimmy_D Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Sooo... they finished 32 points off of Newcastle and still go up... Saints finished 13 points off of 2nd, including the 13 point deduction, and still missed out on the playoffs... That's football I guess. Omerod is a legend though
Flyer Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Hopefully this plunges the sheep ****gers into admin and relegation.
badgerx16 Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 I shall have to be extra quiet at work on Monday, assuming they don't pull sickies with their hangovers.
JonnyLove Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Well Done Blackpool. That will be Cardiff in Admin tomorrow then or even wound up (with any luck)

EastleighSoulBoy Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 What a game! Hope Blackpool win: they are much better than Cardiff and Cardiff in the Prem would be disgusting. Probably not as disgusting as one certain team about to leave the PL though.
RonManager Posted 22 May, 2010 Posted 22 May, 2010 Probably not as disgusting as one certain team about to leave the PL though. Have Arsenal been relegated? Excellent.
Micky Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Sooo... they finished 32 points off of Newcastle and still go up... Saints finished 13 points off of 2nd, including the 13 point deduction, and still missed out on the playoffs... That's football I guess. Omerod is a legend though And 9 points shy of third place as well, which is probably a bit of a p*isser for Forest fans now. Mind you thats the play offs for you I guess - come in 6th and get promoted, beauty if it's your team, but 3 teams feeling pretty sick. All of that said - well done to Blackpool. I think they'll be a 'one hit wonder', but lets just hope they enjoy the ride.
Red Alert Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Well done to Blackpool, saw on SSN that they have the lowest average attendance in the Championship ( 8611 ) this season. It could be very embarrassing for them against some of the smaller teams if that doesn't improve.
krissyboy31 Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 All of that said - well done to Blackpool. I think they'll be a 'one hit wonder', but lets just hope they enjoy the ride. Even if they do go straight back down, they've guaranteed themselves £88 million pounds of extra income over the next 5 years, which is a damn site more than many so called bigger clubs in the Football League will be able to generate. i don't know about their current debt situation but if it's negligible, they could easily build to at least become the next West Brom (yo-yo club).

It could be very embarrassing for them against some of the smaller teams if that doesn't improve. The capacity before the South-West corner was opened was only @9000, it is now up to @12000. Now they can afford to finish the job, the total, when completed, will be 16000, still too small for the Prem, but they know they aren't stopping.
suewhistle Posted 23 May, 2010 Posted 23 May, 2010 Well, let's hope that unlike Pompey they don't spend all the money on wages: an improved ground and possibly training centre would be something for the future as I really can't see them staying up.

In an interview yesterday Olly said that isn't going to happen because that is not the way he does things. It's about finishing the stadium, giving the players better training facilities and securing the long-term future of the club and having a good deal of fun on the way.

GenevaSaint Posted 24 May, 2010 Posted 24 May, 2010 Fantastic result for them, I just hope they don't go mad and live the dream. Take this as a major stepping stone to financial stability and the potential to be a yoyo club until their fanbase expands.
Ziggy Posted 26 May, 2010 Posted 26 May, 2010 Well Done Blackpool. That will be Cardiff in Admin tomorrow then or even wound up (with any luck) What a sporting statement.
