badgerx16 Posted 21 May, 2010 Posted 21 May, 2010 Have to admit, I have just read it and was pleasantly surprised - must be the LD influence ;-)
Leicestersaint Posted 21 May, 2010 Posted 21 May, 2010 They seem strong on civil liberties - but I fera this is the honeymoon period and it won't last.
TopGun Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 Lots of hastily arranged wallpaper to cover differences. Can't expect anything less. Paxo gave Cable a right grilling on Newsnight earlier though. Cable has switched his position entirely and now is under the spotlight. Cable might find things a bit tougher now that he has a position of responsibility, shifted his position accordingly and suddenly abandoned his much purported economic principles in the process!
Lord Duckhunter Posted 25 May, 2010 Posted 25 May, 2010 I thought Cable came across very poorly, but even before the outcome of the election his star was starting to wane. There were a few times during the election even when defending his policies, he looked flustered, so I'm not sure it's the U turns that are doing it (although they dont help). His way of speaking makes him sound a bit hesitatant and when you're under pressure over policies, you need to sound sure and firm, I'm not sure he does.
