Just to note that this isn't the first string French under-21 - they are currently in South America.

That's right, Morgan is excluded from their U21 team as their coach doesn't think he's playing at a high enough level to be worthy of a place.

For anyone that doubts Morgans ability, they should of watched him in this game. He was head and shoulders above his team mates, and probably got frustrated by their lack of ability and experience compared to his, he looked like a man playing with and against a group of boys. The analogy that someone else used of him looking like Alonso in the Liverpool team was spot on, breaking up the oppo attacks and then using the ball so well to set up most of his teams play, and only miss placing one pass all game.

On the evidence of that performance we'll be lucky to still have him at Saints when the transfer window closes, especially with almost every club from the top leagues of european football having a scout watching the games at the tournament, I only hope we can price him out of a move now and he's happy to give us a couple more seasons.

The Espoirs are in fact the U23s, it's a category that runs throughout French sport between Juniors 18/19 yrs and Seniors which start at 23. In the group which has gone to Argentina there are players who are nearly 23 and some 19 year olds. These players are basically playing for or on the fringes of French Ist division clubs or playing overseas. Morgan looked pretty good last night,as if he was used to regular first team football. That Russian ref was a real a/h though, kept whistling up for stuff that would go unnoticed in any regular football match. As for the sending off, well it was deserved of course, but as per usual he should have sent them both off, the Colombian slapped the French lad who then retaliated. FIFA has to clamp down on the original offender as well as the player who retaliates as it's hardly ever the case at the moment.

A last note, the overhead kick expert was just on loan from Auxerre to Dijon last season, now wouldn't he be a great loan replacement for Papa?

Every game is being shown on British Eurosport and I will probably be watching the French games as Morgan Schneiderlin is the only player in the French squad that is not based in France. Lets hope he plays. :)

Morgan looked pretty good last night,as if he was used to regular first team football.

One of the 'tators commented that he was a bit quiet towards the end, but I reckon that's because he tends to let the ball do the work and his team-mates weren't finding the space so well. He certainly wasn't lacking in getting behind the ball and i think he was just using his experience to calm things down: he didn't look tired as some of the others did.

not on French Eurosport, they were pretty impressed, said he'd hardly put a foot wrong all night and looked pretty useful. Although think the silly yellow he got was for something because that ref was a real knob, it's not our lads' fault if the Colombians decide to send their under 5s is it?

I'm not too sure that was needed really. There was already a thread with all the necessary information

But this thread already had all the information in the opening post so maybe yours wasn't needed.

No point starting a thread for every game in the tournament when there is already a 60 post thread about the subject.

Anyway lets forget that and enjoy a Schneiderlin hatrick. :D

I see no direct links on this thread. I could go all night about this and do all the things that annoy me about web forums. The one I hate the most is IMHO. The basis of Humility is that you don't point it out thus making your opinion not so humble. IMO will do just fine

I see no reason why you didn't just add your post to this thread and give it a bump.

You can get to it from here quite easily with two clicks and the fixture list is in the opening post...

Two clicks, like I said will get you to the match.

Also doesn't explain why you didn't post your link in this thread to give it a bump.

Morgan having a poor game, the commentators want to see more from him.

I think the problem with the French in this game was the superior physical

condition of the Danes. Most of them are older than the French lads and

a couple have already played at full international level.

Morgan looked pretty knackered really,as did most of his team-mates, probably because he's played 4 games in 8 days, because of the straight red that a French player got in the first game and the two yellows that Belhanda had run up thus eliminating him from the Denmark game.

I'm not sure that the very deep role that he seemed to have been given really suits him either.

Morgan looked far better in last night's game, recovered a lot of balls and used them pretty well; Got injured when a pair of crunching sliding tackles collided for a 50/50 ball.Went off with a knock at the top of the shin apparently, looked in no little discomfort and they were applying ice packs to it.
