Barnard is like a poor version of Lambert I think they're too similair to play well both have the pace of a cart horse. I think a pacey player with some skill to benfit from Lambert's flick ons and be first to those second balls would be better Barnard isn't that player. IMO If papa had played every week up front I reckon he would have got more goals than Barnard this season.

thing is. he has been here for most of the season and not really been a regular....deffo not as a striker really

True for what ever reason AP didn't rate him to me it's a shame nothing I can do about it though. Still I will remember him as the player that played a huge part in winning us the JPT. Many players are soon forgotten once they leave I think Papa will be remembered by many saints fans for many years to come. Cheers Papa.

yep..djimi traore played a part in the champions league final and got a medal.....he is turd

if papa is that good..why is he a sub for a league 1 team..?

he is a decent player that can come on and have an impact on a game at times

I think Papa's 'sub' status says more about APs mindset than the players ability. AP didn't choose to have Papa come to SFC.....imo it's the only mistake AP made all season in his assessment of players.

If the buying price was fair and Papa wanted to stay it would be crazy not to keep him.

The problem with losing both Papa and Antonio is that we now need some pacy replacements on the wings, I think we'll be seeing a right back, a centre mid and a winger/striker come in this transfer window. With possibly a couple of good loans.

I agree you look at our likey starting eleven and only Puncheon has a bit of pace most of them are good players at this level but slow. Hope we get Antonio back.

The trouble as we saw this season is the problem of the time it takes for new players to gel with the rest of the team and vicversa. At least with either one or both staying we have a bit of continuity.

Who knows, AP and NC may already have ready made replacements in mind and will see how those pan out before proceeding any further.

I would love to have them both back! Although neither really has enough class to play 90 minutes every week their pace and ability to do the unexpected was fantastic to have from the bench this season.

Its something AP mentioned early in the season I think? he said that all though the eleven on the field looked a decent team when he turned to the bench for someone to change the game there was no quaility there. How many times did Papa or Antonio come on as a sub and help secure a win with a goal or an assist? We'll need similiar players again next season. Of course something may be going on behind the scences that we don't know about.

Have to say, minority i know, but i thought Antonio was a lazy **** who only every seemed bothered 25% of the time, I never thought you could play him and JP in the same team and i think reading will try to take the **** with the fee and i think AP will end up telling them to go **** themselves.

As for Papa, he changed games fair enough, but was never consistant enough for me, I think we can buy better replacements for both.

Youve got the minority bit right !

You could call him raw, inexperienced, a typical winger where sometimes he's brilliant and other times he's poor.

But to call him lazy ?

Nah, no way.

I feel a bit sorry for the both of them especially when seeing them go crazy at Wembley when we won the JPT and Perry for that matter.

But, if AP feels that we can sign better than these guys then happy days!
