Weston Saint Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 Squad for tonights matsh at the Rose Bowl - 4:40 start Hampshire Squad: 4 Jimmy Adams 7 Sean Ervine 8 Liam Dawson 9 Nic Pothas 12 Dominic Cork 14 James Vince 15 Michael Carberry 18 David Griffiths 20 Chris Benham 21 James Tomlinson 25 Chris Wood 27 Neil McKenzie 34 Rangana Herath No Kabir Ali yet but I spoke to him yesterday and he is ok but did not want to risk it today. Should be ok for the Notts game next week. Lumb will miss the Notts game as he will not have returned in time following Englands appearance in the T20 final Chris Woods is the new name. Coming on leaps and bounds in the 2nds and although he will not likely get a Championship game this season he will possibly get a limited over game before the season's end. I expect Woods to miss out this time with Griffiths or Tomlinson the other.
corsacar saint Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 Thanks for the info Ron. We have to start winning games, for confidence,as soon as possible. So today would be a good time to start.
chrisobee Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 Any day would be a good time to start winning though I'm expecting us to totally blitz the 20/20, win easily but lose just about every other game !!

krissyboy31 Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 Just found out it was on the box via the red button, just in time to see Pothas go!! 118-5 now!
krissyboy31 Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 211-8. Could have been worse but Dimi reckons it's not enough!!
chrisobee Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 (edited) 211-8. Could have been worse but Dimi reckons it's not enough!! TBH the way our bowling is I doubt he would have thought 411 was enough ! Edited 14 May, 2010 by chrisobee
Leicestersaint Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 Well they're 130 odd for 1 with 13 to go - why can't we bowl??
badgerx16 Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 186-1 now :-(
chrisobee Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 As someone astutely pointed out Saints have had a good season and we're happy so Hants must play like beginners to make us unhappy !
chrisobee Posted 14 May, 2010 Share Posted 14 May, 2010 Having stated the above I think it is fair to say in most if not all our CCC games we have had spells of being well on top but let it slip, the very 1st game v Essex seeming to have set the tone. We definitely lack an out and out pace bowler ( a fit Simon Jones would make a big difference) and possibly would have been a better option as our overseas player at the present time. Other players ( McKenzie notably) not playing even close to what was expected and others very in and out. Can only hope Lumb, Kabir and Dimi returning will really help and the 20/20's we perform well ( which we really should) and give ourselves some confidence/momentum. Possibly in the absence of Dimi and Lumb the team simply do lack confidence ?

Dark Munster Posted 15 May, 2010 Share Posted 15 May, 2010 As someone astutely pointed out Saints have had a good season and we're happy so Hants must play like beginners to make us unhappy ! But not all Hampshire fans come from Southampton. How about the poor skates? They've had a miserable season, so Hants (and possibly Chelsea) will only add to that misery. You have to feel sorry for them Not.

Leicestersaint Posted 15 May, 2010 Share Posted 15 May, 2010 I am sorry but they are a bunch of losers at the moment. I am surprised at how poor Pothas is as captain.
