Red Alert Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 As title really, maybe ML might like to show us off to a few of his mates? Could be a friendly in Basel, Zurich perhaps? Or the usual scandinavian tour of some random high school teams?
Arizona Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Switzerland or Italy would be interesting and plausible.
1976_Child Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 South Africa. Be good to have an English team winning down there
Saint Martini Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Sweden. Although I hope they manager to get some proper opponents then (Allsvenskan or Superettan teams) and not amateur teams like Kungshamn (even though it is a really nice town to be in in the summer).
ladysaint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 I dont mind really done Holland, Sweden, Norway, Scotland preason so would be happy with Switzerland or Italy just wish they would hurry up and let us know as need to book time off and make arrangements.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Magaluf, Ibiza, Ayia Napa or Zante would be good.
Appy Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Spain. The top 4 La Liga sides would be lovely. Or Andover.
Draino76 Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Thailand, Vietnam or East London would be acceptable.
Saint_clark Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Dorset. Preferably Weymouth. Preferably the park district.
StuRomseySaint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
South Londoner Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 The basketball court opposite my house in Brixton.

Don't say things like that, Mr Cortese will just release a statement saying it's none of your business as Southampton is his baby.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Italy would be good. I'm at Lake Garda for a sailing competition in the last week of July and am planning to mung around various parts of Italy until the end of August.
ladysaint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Don't say things like that, Mr Cortese will just release a statement saying it's none of your business as Southampton is his baby. Or he may invite me along as a reporter :-)
Footballfan Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Portsmouth no football has been played there for years
View From The Top Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Italy would be good. I'm at Lake Garda for a sailing competition in the last week of July and am planning to mung around various parts of Italy until the end of August. I would recommend heading down to Le Marche around Amandola. Stunning.
fish fingers Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 I wanted Holland as have already done Sweden and Norway. Now i don't care as due to work i cannot go.
ladysaint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 I wanted Holland as have already done Sweden and Norway. Now i don't care as due to work i cannot go. Oh no you will be missed.
paris Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 In and around Paris would be good besides PSG there's some good non league teams that could give them a good run out ....
Colinjb Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Malta A good chance to test ourselves against some competitive yet beatable opposition on a few sketchy league 1 style 'pitches.' Also a great excuse for me to visit some friends and family!!

Also a great excuse for me to visit some friends and family!! True. Even the National Stadium pitch was reminiscent of the Silverlake.
Viking Saint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Malta A good chance to test ourselves against some competitive yet beatable opposition on a few sketchy league 1 style 'pitches.' Also a great excuse for me to visit some friends and family!! having come back from a school tour over Easter, there is only one grass pitch on Malta and it's in the national stadium....ll the rest are artificial pitches, which there aren't any of in League 1!!!
St.Patrik Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 I say it again - Sweden and play Halmstad again - after all Killer is the assistant manager there. Or is that just me wanting a short tripp to see Saints : )

Incorrect, there ate grass pitches at the following: Ta'Qali national stadium main pitch Ta'Qali millenium complex pitch Paola Hibernians ground Hamrun Spartans FC Gozo FC
mancsaint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 As title really, maybe ML might like to show us off to a few of his mates? Could be a friendly in Basel, Zurich perhaps? Or the usual scandinavian tour of some random high school teams? Yes please, BASEL, I'll be there for the next three months till the start of the new season. Yum yum yum and plenty of Unser Bier (I have shares) to add to my pleasure.
once_bitterne Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Surely as a lower league team we should be playing our pre-season games mostly at home against teams from the higher leagues?
MulletMan Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Sweden. Although I hope they manager to get some proper opponents then (Allsvenskan or Superettan teams) and not amateur teams like Kungshamn (even though it is a really nice town to be in in the summer). Allsvenskan and Superettan are amateur leagues also imo. A trip to Sweden would be a good vacation for the players, but the teams here are frankly to weak.
Pilchards Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 (edited) Some Scottish beach that has sand castles the size of K2. No footballs and just running until your nuts fall off. When they are supafit take them to a football pitch that has been watered & turned over everyday for footy skills. champions here we come! Edited 13 May, 2010 by Pilchards
bungle Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Oh no you will be missed. No he won't. I want Kungshamn again. Or any other ground with a rock.
JRM Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Italy or Germany would be good, but unless they announce it soon it may be to short notice to make arrangements, how about Fiorentina away as part of the Papa Waigo deal?
paulwantsapint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Couple of games at sms against higher league opp & a few on ploughed fields & a few on sailsbury plans just after army have been blowing things up should then be ready for next season
oxfordshire_saint Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Italian/Swiss border would be pretty good, some competetive sides to play around there like Lugano, Bellinzona, Como and Varese.
sambosa75 Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 I'd choose Spain too. A tour of the Costa Blanca perhaps... playing Hercules, Villarreal and Valencia would do me nicely!
Bailey Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Italy/Switzerland pre-season tour would be fantastic. Top it off with a 'big name' side at St. Mary's in the Ted Bates Trophy and we should be more than ready to start our assault on League One!
Minsk Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Belarus, of course. Poland or Ukraine would be good too.
The Fat Controller Posted 13 May, 2010 Posted 13 May, 2010 Will guess at it being something like this: Oxford United (A) Salisbury (A) Eastleigh (A) Weymouth (A) QPR /Crystal Palace (H) FC Twente (H) Ted Bates Trophy as I said it's a guess
