sperm_john Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 Sort out the official website! Do we have to have some league affiliated one that tries to sell me saints player everywhere I turn??? And whats with the ridiculous amount of ad's, half way through articles and the like ...I understand the need to turn a revenue (or when there was a need, perhaps we dont need to now...) but jesus in the middle of the articles? And its for stuff like command and conquer computer games ...just needs tidying up and de cluttering, i'd like a professional looking club website.
Wiltshire Saint Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 next season. My request is for a better PA system, this really spoils the day Agreed. It really spoils the day for me which is why I've stopped going. Season ticket holder for 34 years, but enough is enough. I refuse to go and have to put up with something like that which really takes the shine off a win for me. You should have seen how upset my grandson was after the Huddersfield game. We scored 5 goals, but the PA system just ruined it for him. He couldn't hear the interview before the game and was in tears the whole game. Sort it out SFC!
saints triumph Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 Show action replays of goals on the big screens. Scrap all forms of pre-match entertainment and show the live SKY game on the big screens instead like they do at Leeds and Crystal Palace. Bring back action replays on the big screens as they were stopped to save cash, or are we still that skint.

LGTL Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 Just shoot Stuart Dennis and get some decent drink in the ground.

suewhistle Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 Agreed. It really spoils the day for me SNIP Sort it out SFC! The problem is, we've all seen serious posts like this on the board!
st alex Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 For the club to communicate better through the website. i.e. today's programme fair and when season tickets will be annouced
SNSUN Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 Pee tubes for men. We shouldn't have to be expected to walk to the loos at halftime. Behind every seat is a tube linked with a hidden sewage system. so we can just pee in the tube without leaving our seats.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 15 May, 2010 Posted 15 May, 2010 I would like to see the Earths orbit rearranged so that the Chapel stand enjoyed the benefit of the sunshine on cold matchdays . Also free season tickets for Saintsweb members with post counts over 2300 or so .
paulwantsapint Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 Make away teams have to commit to X amount of tickets so if carlise are down mid week & want 250 tickets they get 250 if bournmouth want 3200 they get 3200, but must be decided 7 days before match so that rest of northam can be opened up to saints fans because it looks awful when half of the stand if full & other half has got hardly anyone sat there plus it forces more rowdy fans to be put in family orientated chapel
Asaint4ever Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 (edited) I think the ground needs a bit of tlc starting to show some age, new flat screen tv's, swipe cards to get into the grond, beer that aint flat! Edited 16 May, 2010 by Asaint4ever
Victor Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 I think the grond needs a bit of tlc starting to show some age, new flat screen tv's, swipe cards to get into the grond, beer that aint flat! First I thought it was just a typo, then I saw you really did mean the grond. I must admit, I've thought he has been showing his age and letting himself go lately.
RonManager Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 If they don't do something soon about the paint peeling off the under-roof supports because they've not been etch primered properly, I may have to put in a costing for the job myself.
eelpie Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 I would like ST's to be sold as a promise to provide admission to 23 home matches as advertised. SO, when matches have to be re-arranged (it happened a lot this last season) if we can't make the re-arranged date due to a a prior commitment, we are offered free attendance in an unreserved seat at another match in any competition. OR a deduction off the cost of the following season's ST. (This is normal practice for other entertainments ie theatre tickets)
Turkish Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 i'd like to see a new right back, a decent central midfield player for when Schniderlin and Hammond are out and put pressure on them and a decent target man striker as cover for Lambert. Or am i on the wrong thread as i thought this was a forum about a football team?
Turkish Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 (edited) I have said about a Saturday season ticket before and have today on another thread, I really think this would be an excellent idea and hope the club think about it. Its not a good idea at all. for the clubs point of view it'd be a nightmare to manage and a season ticket is just that, a season ticket. You dont buy a season ticket on a train but ask for a reduced rate because you can only use it 3 days a week do you. If people cant go to games during the week dont buy a season ticket. That is the reason why i haven't had one the last two years as i wouldn't be back from work in time for most midweek games, however, my job changed in december and can now make midweek games so will be getting a season ticket this season. Edited 16 May, 2010 by Turkish
saint_mears Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 No tannoy messages during a match unless its an emergency. I dont like the chap with the mic before the match he acts like ronald mcdonald.
Thedelldays Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 please..just stop the kids from shouting "papa, adam, rickie" on the mic before the game
Saints foreva Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 Improve the video quality on Saints Player. Sometimes it breaks up when the crowd cheer for a goal. Improve the sound system, I can never hear the interviews before the match. Get rid of that Stuart Dennis - Everything he does before the match is cringworthy. Especially that little dance infront of the Northam Stand as the team comes out. . .
Matty's Caddy Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 - Allow smoking area at half time for Home fans. steady there SRS, you will incur the wrath of the non-smokers, tried it once, didnt like it.
Matty's Caddy Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 Can you really not stop yourself for 2 hours? NO!!!! beers + fags= good time FACT
sotonian Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 concourse areas should be extended, more food and drink outlets and yes a smoking area, the club would make loads more money, so many people i know dont bother at half time cause its too packed & its nearly impossible to have a beer without missing some of the match, i can only comment for the northam, dont know what other stands are like
Matthew Le God Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 NO!!!! beers + fags= good time FACT Beers + Fags = Lung and liver disease and premature death (and others passively inhaling) FACT
SNSUN Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 Beers + Fags = Lung and liver disease and premature death (and others passively inhaling) FACT If I die at 50 because of it - totally worth it. :-) I have a teetotal mate, and he's a miserable bastard. (Though when the rest of his mates pop out for a smoke every five minutes and leave him on his own. I can see why. :-)) :smt033:weedman::smt030:drinkers::partyman:

Rogerfryisalegend Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 Turbo Tap's at the bar, they pour a pint in 2 seconds. Real Cider, none of that Strongbow or Magners crap, Stowford Press or Thatchers Gold would be nice. Bigger screens at the bars. More Urinals, Bidets.
SaintRobbie Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 Would they have to be Japanese though? No a mixture of nice looking ladies would be fine!
Denzil Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 Get rid of the knob in The Northam End who wears that reindeer hat.
Thedelldays Posted 16 May, 2010 Posted 16 May, 2010 we should have an "adult and men only" stand.. with plenty of booze, plenty of coke/plant food....strippers who give extra on request oh, and no seats in the terrace
Neil Posted 17 May, 2010 Posted 17 May, 2010 Get rid of Stuart Dennis. Speed up the queues at turnstiles, electronic turnstiles if need be. Real ale / cider, served quickly and drinks tokens if need be, i.e. try to get more profit from the time people are currently drinking in city centre pubs pre-match. No half-time 'entertainment'. No goal 'jingles' of any description. Turn off the music by 2.45 at the very latest, or better still, don't have any at all. No music at half time, just the half time scores and birthdays etc. No crappy messages about staying off the pitch, that are then repeated twice. Oh, and get rid of Stuart Dennis.
Gordon Mockles Posted 17 May, 2010 Posted 17 May, 2010 1.) Replace the faulty digital screens with the much better, high definition screens as used at the better live gigs (Oasis & Kasabian used them on their last tour). Vivid colours & a much better picture. 2.) It's a knock out style events for people in mascot costumes at half time, for the kids...& adults. 3.) More shelf space & better decor in the concourse. The pictures are crap! Employ a new photographer!! 4.) Stock take! How many times have the club run out of pies/food...?? It's pathetic! Southend game they ran out of Yorkies, Crisps, Kit Kats, Hot chocolate, Pies...end of season so no stock? You may think but certain ready sealed/long life foods should always be in stock & It's only p*ss poor management unable to balance predictable supply & demand. Annoys me when any football clubs can't maintain basic stock levels. They're throwing away loads of money through incompetent catering. Simply not good enough when it's so simple. Astonishes me it's happens so regularly which must lose the club a good few grand/match. 5.) Sack the DJ & play less bandwagon/stadium music & be inventive. Vary the selection & don't all have thrashy/noisy music which basically drowns out conversation...in some areas a blessing! 6.) Employ staff with a sense of urgency. It can't be a fun job but with such high demand serving times, anything quicker than snail's pace would be a bonus! 7.) Bring back shots in the corporate boxes! Tight arses!! I was finally going to ask to have toilets regularly maintained as it bugs me post match that the club are too tight to refill the paper towels (Esp. without hand dryers...maybe install some dryers) but this seems to have been addressed.
Arizona Posted 17 May, 2010 Posted 17 May, 2010 Another thing... why do the club ALWAYS seem to run out of all replica merchandise in size medium about 3 months into the season? I've been after a couple of the training tops the last couple of seasons, but come the new year they're always gone, never to be seen again.
trousers Posted 17 May, 2010 Posted 17 May, 2010 we should have an "adult and men only" stand.. [/QUOTe] Adults AND men in one stand? It'll never catch on IMHO...
Appy Posted 17 May, 2010 Posted 17 May, 2010 Another thing... why do the club ALWAYS seem to run out of all replica merchandise in size medium about 3 months into the season? I've been after a couple of the training tops the last couple of seasons, but come the new year they're always gone, never to be seen again. You should eat some more food and excercise less. Problem solved.

Agree with nearly all your post, but I feel compelled to point out we haven't used goal celebration music all season.

I've been after a couple of the training tops the last couple of seasons, but come the new year they're always gone, never to be seen again. Because it's the average size?
Arizona Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 Because it's the average size? I know, which is why I'd have though they'd produce sufficiently more relative to other sizes.
Saint_clark Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 Didn't want to start a new thread for just this, but I clicked on something by accident on the OS (I have no idea what) and it came up with this; http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2053955,00.html Any ideas?

hughieslastminutegoal Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 Electrify the panels at the back of the Northam to stop the moronic yoof smacking hell out of them. I was thinking about a slightly more humane way of covering them in foam so they don't make a noise. Yes I totally agree. Cover mindless yoof with foam so they don't make a noise.
JRM Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 My point is that you have your seat and ST, but you only pay for the games you attend. what a moron. think you are missing the point of a season ticket mate, in theory with your suggestions someone could get one and just do a couple of games. if you are only going to miss 3-4 games, get a season ticket, more than that then pay your way each game. i know people who cant make mid-week but still get season tickets and give them to mates/colleagues to go in their place.
StuRomseySaint Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 Blocks 41 and 42 and Itchen North to be made 'Adult Price only' blocks, which should hopefully keep out 'tards like reindeer boy.
forever a red and white Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 the seats are certainly beginning to go pink PUT HT SCORES UP ON THE BIG SCREEN, so we can check accumulator etc, doesnt even have to SSN but just a list of scores. Don't reintroduce music for when we score.
Saint_John Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 When I went for a run this morning past SMS there are 2 "Cherry Picker" type platforms at the Chapel End (inside) and a whole of lot of scaffolding at the Northam end. A workman told me they were removing the rust from the steelwork that supports the roof. (They did the outside last year). Although I hope they repair the TV screens while they have the equipment in place. Two other things. 1/ A sign on the MegaStore door said "The Southend Programs are STILL not available", the word "STILL" implies to me that one will come out sometime (I bet the Echo buys the 1st one and then compares every word to try and find a negative story). 2/ The Mount Pleasant Level-Crossing is now open to vehicles, HOWEVER Mount Pleasant Road itself is now CLOSED both ways by the School so the only way to drive across the level crossing by the Old Farmhouse pub is via the Industial Est in Imperial Road (I believe).
Turkish Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 what a moron. think you are missing the point of a season ticket mate, in theory with your suggestions someone could get one and just do a couple of games. if you are only going to miss 3-4 games, get a season ticket, more than that then pay your way each game. i know people who cant make mid-week but still get season tickets and give them to mates/colleagues to go in their place. I went to the train station and asked for an annual season ticket to London this morning, i said i can only use it twice a month though so only wanted to pay the price of two trips a month. They told me to to ****** off.
trousers Posted 18 May, 2010 Posted 18 May, 2010 I know, which is why I'd have though they'd produce sufficiently more relative to other sizes. Marks and Sparkes are the same - always running out of the most popular sizes first. Stock control, my arse
